The usual sources are 
birdbaths that aren't emptied regularly
(every 2 days at least) and 
other standing water garden pools,
including cavities in rocks,
children's outdoor toys that pick up water from sprinklers,
flowerpot trays, 
wheelbarrows, 
wading pools, particularly
those that have been "emptied" but still have shallow water
or sprinkler catch sitting in them,
plastic covered yard furniture that sits for more than
a few days and catches sprinkler water, 
pet dishes that aren't emptied often enough.

Also discarded stuff like tires, paint cans or other metal
containers, 
garbage and trash containers no longer used
that don't have drainage holes and/or lids, 
persistent puddles that get renewed from landscape runoff.
etc.

Check your alley folks, there's all sorts 
of stuff out there.
