Davis Senior High School Weekly Bulletin
September 9, 2020
THIS DAY IN HISTORY: Elvis Presley makes first appearance on "The Ed Sullivan show". This week we also want to remember those who lost their lives on 09/11 our thoughts are with those families.
Daily: Students breakfast and lunch is available Monday through Friday at DHS.
COUNSELING: The last day to drop/add a class is TODAY .
ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS: The Davis Senior High School Staff is very proud and excited to meet with you on our special evening to build community and positive relationships. As we embark on distance learning under our quarter academic calendar, we will highlight periods 2,4 and 6 this Thursday night. (We will conduct a second BTSN in early November focusing on courses taught during periods 1,3,5 and 7.)
We will follow this "bell schedule":

* Please make note of your student's schedule.
* Our evening will begin with Principal McHale's welcome message. He will send you a link to the recorded message by 10:00 AM Thursday.
* Parents will receive a Zoom meeting link from each of your student's teachers via email by 10:00 AM Thursday.
* Teachers will also post their meeting link on their Canvas Home Page, so you may access BTSN in this manner.
During each class session, Davis Senior High School teachers will introduce themselves and discuss their course content, classroom practices and expectations. Please remember that BTSN is a time dedicated to learning about your student's classes and what they experience daily. Due to time constraints, it is not a good time to ask specific questions relating to your student. An email to your student's teacher will allow for a more thoughtful and personal response.
We look forward to you joining us Thursday evening.
Advanced Placement Exams (AP) are $99 per exam. The 2021 AP exams will be in person. AP will provide a contingency testing option if school building closes for safety concerns. This year there will be no fees if a student decides not to test or to cancel their exams if they register at https://myap.collegeboard.org by the due date. There will still be a $40 fee for late orders. Students in AP classes with even periods can register until 10/23/2020 and students with odd AP classes periods can register until 02/10/2021. Students can register online https://myap.collegeboard.org<https://myap.collegeboard.org/> with a join code from their from their AP teacher or the Testing Coordinator. As mandated by College Board, AP exams cannot be ordered for students that do not register on https://myap.collegeboard.org<https://myap.collegeboard.org/> even if they paid for the exam.
