THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1952 - Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the British throne. Her father, George VI, had died on February 6.
MENU DHS:

  *   Breakfast Served Daily:  Cereal w/Graham Cracker, Breakfast Pizza, Assorted Breakfast Sandwiches, Scones, Breakfast Burrito, Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla, Pancakes w/ Sausage, Assorted Muffins, Chicken & Biscuit Slider, Yogurt Parfait w/Graham Cracker.
  *   Grab & Go Hot Chocolate & Muffin & Fruit Cinnamon Rolls.
Lunch: Happy Burrito Day! The ASC Café is now offering burrito bowls in addition to our burritos. We are now serving chicken, beef and nacho cheese, bean and cheese, and veggie (vegan) burritos!

TODAY:
Calling all artists Art for Cure is looking for painters and designers to help paint a recycling bin near the track. If interested come to out meeting, in L-27.

Mark your calendars for the Environmental Club Movie Night! Come to the library at 7:00pm to watch Wall-E and hang out! Admission is free, but there will be a bake sale. See you there!

Guys, gals, and non binary pals! Come to the GSA meeting at lunch in Mrs. Istas' room, L-29, up the stairs in the right side of the library.

Interested in Biomedical Engineering? Join Women in Stem in welcoming Dr. Marc Facciotti, a specialist in microbial systems biology at UCD. Come to S-05 at lunch for this great opportunity!

ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
Any student wishing to take AP Art studio next year and has not completed the preliminary course, must submit a portfolio of their work to the Art Department by February 13. See Ms. Diem in A1 to get an informational form if you are interested.

Open House 2019! DHS will host it's Open House on Tuesday, February 19th, from 5-7 p.m. come visit with our teachers and counselors and learn about our courses and programs.


CLUBS:
Hey Key Clubbers! We will be having registration this week during lunch in front of S-12. Please bring your completed hour sheet.

HUB is great to come to L-28! Don't hesitate, it's probably fate! For those interested in Graphic Art Photography, being a Business Manager, or a webmaster, pick up a HUB application in L-28 or in the office.

Come to Culture Club! Where you can learn about different cultures and gain a different perspective of cultures around the globe. It will be happening in room P-23 at lunch every Tuesday. Hope to see you there!
CAREERS:
SENIORS: It's scholarship time! If you would like free money for college, then you should apply for scholarships! Nineteen local community scholarships are now being offered for seniors graduating from a Davis high school. You can find these local scholarships and many more in the Career Center's Scholarship Bulletin or on Naviance. Come to the Career Center to apply for scholarships!
If you plan to attend community college this fall, come to Sacramento City College's orientation event in the Career Center on Wednesday, February 13 at 10:40 am. Orientation is required for all new students and is where you will learn how to choose classes, find college resources, learn the types of degrees available and more. Come to the Career Center to sign up!
Students interested in pursuing a career as a veterinarian are invited to attend UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine's "Future Day" on Saturday, April 20 from 8:00 - 3:00. Future Day will focus on careers in veterinary medicine, offer hands-on activities and interactive labs, and will show students what being a veterinarian is all about. The event is free and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Come to the Career Center for a flyer.
