MENU DHS:

  *   Breakfast Served Daily:  Cereal w/Graham Cracker, Breakfast Pizza, Assorted Breakfast Sandwiches, Scones, Breakfast Burrito, Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla, Pancakes w/ Sausage, Assorted Muffins, Chicken & Biscuit Slider, Yogurt Parfait w/Graham Cracker.
  *   Grab & Go Hot Chocolate & Muffin & Fruit Cinnamon Rolls.
Lunch: Today's Lunch specials in the ASC Café are Nachos (Beef and nacho cheese and bean and cheese), Grilled veggie sandwich and Roasted Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy.

TODAY:
Join the School Social Climate Committee at lunch to talk about social justice at DHS. The meeting is in the Library West Conference Room. If you'd like to have a first-hand role in improving the school, the committee is the place for you. Our unique role between the school's administration and the students makes real change at DHS possible. The committee is also looking for new leadership for next year, so all who are interested should make sure to come! Pizza will be served.

ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
Any student wishing to take AP Art studio next year and has not completed the preliminary course, must submit a portfolio of their work to the Art Department by February 13. See Ms. Diem in A1 to get an informational form if you are interested.

Open House 2019! DHS will host it's Open House on Tuesday, February 19th, from 5-7 p.m. come visit with our teachers and counselors and learn about our courses and programs.



Students please remember this Friday; we will have Rally Schedule for ASB Elections Assembly.

Attention all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade Orchestra String Students, The sign up schedule for the 2019-20 DHS Orchestra Program Placement Auditions will be posted in the music room (PA-3) this week. The sign up deadline is set for Friday, February 8th so please sign up for a time ASAP. Please write clearly so I can create the final schedule accurately, which I will post in PA-3 the week of February 18th. Once the schedule is posted, please check your final posted time to make sure it is accurate and there is not a conflict for you. When you sign up for an audition time also pick up the registration form that each student is required to fill out and turn in when they arrive for their audition. Please fill it out to turn in when you check in for your audition warm up time. I look forward to listening to all of your hard work, Mr. Moreno.

Hey Key Clubbers! We will be having registration this week during lunch in front of S-12. Please bring your completed hour sheet.

Mark your calendars for this Friday, February 8th, for the Environmental Club Movie Night! Come to the library at 7:00pm to watch Wall-E and hang out! Admission is free, but there will be a bake sale. See you there!

Guys, gals, and non binary pals! Come to the GSA meeting this Friday at lunch in Mrs. Istas' room, L-29, up the stairs in the right side of the library.

Interested in Biomedical Engineering? Join Women in Stem in welcoming Dr. Marc Facciotti, a specialist in microbial systems biology at UCD. Come to S-05 on Friday at lunch for this great opportunity!

Calling all artists Art for Cure is looking for painters and designers to help paint a recycling bin near the track. If interested come to out meeting this Friday, February 8th, in L-27.

HUB is great to come to L-28! Don't hesitate, it's probably fate! For those interested in Graphic Art Photography, being a Business Manager, or a webmaster, pick up a HUB application in L-28 or in the office.

CAREERS:
SENIORS: It's scholarship time! If you would like free money for college, then you should apply for scholarships! Nineteen local community scholarships are now being offered for seniors graduating from a Davis high school. You can find these local scholarships and many more in the Career Center's Scholarship Bulletin or on Naviance. Come to the Career Center to apply for scholarships!
If you plan to attend community college this fall, come to Sacramento City College's orientation event in the Career Center on Wednesday, February 13 at 10:40 am. Orientation is required for all new students and is where you will learn how to choose classes, find college resources, learn the types of degrees available and more. Come to the Career Center to sign up!
Students interested in pursuing a career as a veterinarian are invited to attend UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine's "Future Day" on Saturday, April 20 from 8:00 - 3:00. Future Day will focus on careers in veterinary medicine, offer hands-on activities and interactive labs, and will show students what being a veterinarian is all about. The event is free and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Come to the Career Center for a flyer.
