Winter is coming and so is the information meeting for the DHS Snowboard Team. Tuesday, September 19 @ 7pm in room L-20 is where you and your family members can learn about your chance to be on this awesome winter sport team. All skill levels are welcome. ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
DSHS will offer the PSAT/NMSQT on Saturday 10/14!! The cost is $24.00. There are NO Refunds and no transfers. Sales end 10/3. There are a limited number of tests available. If you feel this is a financial hardship, please contact your counselor immediately. A PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide containing further information regarding the test, scholarship, and sample questions is available to any student who purchases the test. Come to the Testing Coordinator office in the admin office for a copy.
Juniors only: Online purchasing is available 9/5-10/3 @ dshs.djusd.net
Sophomores: Online purchasing is available 9/18-10/3 @ dshs.djusd.net and is subject to availability.
In-person sign-ups will be held during lunch only, 9/25-10/3 at the Finance Office outside window.
Students or parents can pay in person via credit card, cash or check payable to Davis High School or DHS.

Support the Arts at DHS by joining the Brunelle Theater Student Usher Program. Earn volunteer hours, gain costumer service skills, and see performances for free. Students who ushered last year are encouraged to attend the advance training on Wed. Sept 20th at 2:45p, to become a House Manager, or simply fill out a Returning Usher Package from PA-10 in order to remain active. New Ushers- Stay turned for training dates at the beginning of October.

Interested in going to Costa Rica during spring break? The trip will include a visit to the Rainforest Adventure Park, a local farm to learn why produce thrives in this environment, a kayaking trip on Lake Arenal and more. Come to Room P-14 during lunchtime on Thursday, Sept 21 for the full details about the trip. Staff advisors: Courtney Tessler & Kevin Williams.

Oh my God you guys! The Davis High Drama Department is looking for help with the fall musical: Legally Blonde! If you are interested in sound design, lighting design, stage crew, hair or make up, or just want to find out how to get involved, come to the Brunelle Theatre on Tuesday, September 19th at lunch to learn more! Can't make it? Pick up a handout in PA-10! Hope to see you there!

After school GUITAR LESSONS have been suspended until further notice.

Hey CSF! Registration ends this Friday @ lunch. Pick up a pink application from the Library, front office or P-13. Bring $5 dollars, your application and report card to P-13. School Loop print out ARE NOT ACCEPTED. Hope to see you there!

Attention Everyone! Picture Make-Up Day is September 26 @ the North Gym. If you purchase an ASB Card please make sure you take your receipt or need your student ID please don't miss the make-up date. If you need Lifetouch forms to order, please come to the front desk and ask for one.

CLUBS:
"Calling all artists, designers and car fanatics. Interested in drawing a car for this year's Car Club t-shirt? Submit designs, either hand drawn or electronically, to Mr. Thayer in auto shop room O-3. First prize is a free t-shirt with your design on it! The deadline is Friday, September 22nd.

Do you want to make long-lasting friendships? Join Best Buddies Club, we are a club that creates opportunities for friendships between students with intellectual and developmental disabilities and students without. We meet every Wednesday at lunch in C-4. See you there!

Hey Key Clubbers! There will be registration at lunch in front of S-12 every day until September 22. It costs $11.50 to register and old members must bring their spring hour's sheet.

Interested in Korean Culture? Do you want to go on a Summer Trip to South Korea? If so, come to P-14 on Tuesdays @ lunch and join the Korean Culture Club!

Register for the National Honors Society! We will be outside S-12 from 9/18 through 9/29. Bring $5 dollars and a transcript from last semester. Active members should bring an hour's sheet. We look forward to seen you there!

If you love animals and want to make a difference in our community and across the world, come join the Animal Awareness Club! Our first meeting is Wednesday, September 20th in room A-7 at lunch. We can't wait to see you there!

CAREERS:
If you are interested in community service, social service and personal growth, you may want to join The Youth Leadership Davis Program. Students participate in social and ethical discussions and will be trained as interns at the Davis Interfaith Rotating Winter shelter. Come to the Career Center for more information.

Are you looking to improve your leadership and teambuilding skills? If so, you should join the City of Davis Teen Leadership Council. Members will help plan and implement special City of Davis events and offer volunteer services within the City of Davis community. The first meeting is Tuesday, September 26 from 7:00-8:30pm. Come to the Career Center for more information.
