TODAY: Want to volunteer? Putah Creek Council is hosting a Creek Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 16 to clean the Winters sections of Putah Creek of litter from 9am to 12pm, with lunch afterward in Rotary Park. Come to the Career Center for more information.
Learn about Hepatitis B Virus and how to prevent it, come to Team HBV's meeting today @ lunch room S-05! Please note that the meeting date has been changed to Friday for just this week.
The Hurricane Harvey School Supply + T-Shirt Drive starts today! Drop off your donations to boxes in the front office.
DHS Politics Club will be meeting today @ lunch in N-12. This weeks topic is foreign policy and US's role in the world, so come ready for a lively discussion and debate!

Winter is coming and so is the information meeting for the DHS Snowboard Team. Tuesday, September 19 @ 7pm in room L-20 is where you and your family members can learn about your chance to be on this awesome winter sport team. All skill levels are welcome. ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
DSHS will offer the PSAT/NMSQT on Saturday 10/14!! The cost is $24.00. There are NO Refunds and no transfers. Sales end 10/3. There are a limited number of tests available. If you feel this is a financial hardship, please contact your counselor immediately. A PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide containing further information regarding the test, scholarship, and sample questions is available to any student who purchases the test. Come to the Testing Coordinator office in the admin office for a copy.
Juniors only: Online purchasing is available 9/5-10/3 @ dshs.djusd.net
Sophomores: Online purchasing is available 9/18-10/3 @ dshs.djusd.net and is subject to availability.
In-person sign-ups will be held during lunch only, 9/25-10/3 at the Finance Office outside window.
Students or parents can pay in person via credit card, cash or check payable to Davis High School or DHS.
Support the Arts at DHS by joining the Brunelle Theater Student Usher Program. Earn volunteer hours, gain costumer service skills, and see performances for free. Students who ushered last year are encouraged to attend the advance training on Wed. Sept 20th at 2:45p, to become a House Manager, or simply fill out a Returning Usher Package from PA-10 in order to remain active. New Ushers- Stay turned for training dates at the beginning of October.

Are you interested in saving a life? Your blood could help those in need after Hurricane Harvey. The 1st Blood Drive of the year is Tuesday, September 19 @ North Gym. You must be at least 110lbs and be at least 16 years old.
Interested in going to Costa Rica during spring break? The trip will include a visit to the Rainforest Adventure Park, a local farm to learn why produce thrives in this environment, a kayaking trip on Lake Arenal and more. Come to Room P-14 during lunchtime on Thursday, Sept 21 for the full details about the trip. Staff advisors: Courtney Tessler & Kevin Williams.

If you are interested in sound design, lighting design, stage crew, hair or make up, or just want to find out how to get involved, come to the Brunelle Theatre on Tuesday, September 19th at lunch to learn more! Do you want to make long-lasting friendships? Join Best Buddies Club, we are a club that creates opportunities for friendships between students with intellectual and developmental disabilities and students without. We meet every Wednesday at lunch in C-4. See you there!
