TODAY: Juniors will take ELA tests on Thursday. IMPORTANT: We will have a different schedule on Thursday. Period 3 on Thursday will begin earlier than usual. Please check the schedule in your teachers' classrooms. All students who are taking tests must bring their photo ID and a free reading book. Sophomores and seniors will receive important information at assemblies next Wednesday and Thursday.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: The next school year is coming up fast and we need Link Crew members to welcome our new sophomores. If you are helpful, positive, and care about the DHS Community, make sure to apply for the 2016-2017 Link Crew! The applications are available in L-23 or the Finance Office.
College Night for Juniors and their parents is Thursday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. starting in the IPAB. At College Night you will learn about public and private colleges, universities, community colleges, scholarships, financial aid, college entrance testing and more during breakout sessions. Join us on April 28 to find out more about the process of applying to college!
Attention Seniors: Grad Night Tickets will be sold on campus this week! Bring your check payable to Davis Grad Night for $90.00 or cash. Volunteers can also instruct how to purchase online. Availability will be: Thursday, April 21: During the Senior Assembly * Friday, April 22: At lunch in the quad * What's Grad Night? A spectacular, all night party for every graduating senior in Davis. Price includes all food, activities and raffle entry. Don't miss this rite of passage!
CSF Seniors: If you are graduating as an ACTIVE lifetime member, you are eligible to apply for our chapter Scholarship. Applications are available in P-13. Deadline for submission is Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 1:00 pm.
ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS: The Davis Chamber of Commerce has two internship opportunities for students who want to get involved in the local business community. Tasks include social media marketing, creating promotional materials, economic development research, and help with events such as Celebrate Davis, Chamber Golf Tournament, Discover Davis, Installation Gala, and Chamber luncheons and mixers. Come to the Career Center for more information.
Come make a corsage and boutonniere with the Ag Department, Thursday, April 28th through Friday, the 29th after 7th period. $15 for both, $10 for boutonnieres. Ms. Michel will ensure their beauty.
2016-2017 DSHS Dance Team - Final day to return all required forms to Coach Perez is this Friday, April 22, 2016 @ 3:30 pm. If you are interested in trying out for the Dance Team please see Coach Perez in the DSHS Main office for the required forms. Don't miss 'A Tribute to Tony Fields' this Friday, April 22 and Saturday, 4/23 at 7:00 pm in the IPAB. Come see this fun song and dance-filled musical about show business! Student tickets are $8 with ID, General Admission is $12 and seniors are $10.
SENIORS: The 2016 Senior Ball is almost here! Seniors are all invited to experience the Starry Night on April 30, 2016 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets will be on sale in the Finance Office during lunch April 11 to April 22. Tables seat 10-your group must buy tickets at the same time to be seated together. See the Senior Ball Table Organizer, available in the Office and at davishighstudentgovernment.wordpress.com. Seniors and their guests can purchase tickets; if your guest is not a DJUSD student, complete a Guest Pass and submit it to your Vice Principal for approval by April 20. CLUBS: Hey y'all, Mother Nature here. Just wanted to give you a head's up that my child's birthday is coming up this Friday, 4/22. You can celebrate Earth Day by using DHS's recycling system. Big blue bins are for plastic, green bins for paper and small blue bins for bottles and cans.
AP tests are coming up so Math and Science tutors are planning to host AP reviews for Biology, Physics 1 and 2, Chemistry and Calculus. The review schedule is as follows: AP Cal, AB/BC Friday (4/22/16), AP Chemistry next Monday (4/25/16) and AP Bio next Tuesday (4/26/16).
Attention CSF! We will have another general meeting this Friday at lunch. Seniors! Don't forget that scholarship applications are due April 27th. We still have projects to announce including Senior Awards Night! There are only 3 meetings left!
