TODAY: Kevin Johnson, Dean of King Law School at UC Davis will be speaking about U.S. immigration policy on April 20th in Brunelle Theater. The event will be at lunch 12:45-1:30 pm. All are welcome.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: Juniors will take ELA tests on Wednesday and Thursday. IMPORTANT: We will have a different schedule on Wednesday and Thursday. Period 4 on Wednesday and Period 3 on Thursday will begin earlier than usual. Please check the schedule in your teachers' classrooms. All students who are taking tests must bring their photo ID and a free reading book. Sophomores and seniors will receive important information at assemblies next Wednesday and Thursday.
A special thanks to everyone who helped organize the Blood drive on Friday. We had a great turnout! As for the results we registered 90 donors and collected 66 pints of life saving blood. We also had 47 NEW donors come out to save a life, woo hoo! Great job by the Red Cross club in getting people excited to save lives!
The next school year is coming up fast and we need Link Crew members to welcome our new sophomores. If you are helpful, positive and care about the DHS Community, make sure to apply for the 2016-2017 Link Crew! The applications are available in L-23 or the Finance Office.
College Night for Juniors and their parents is Thursday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. starting in the IPAB. At College Night you will learn about public and private colleges, universities, community colleges, scholarships, financial aid, college entrance testing and more during breakout sessions. Join us on April 28 to find out more about the process of applying to college!
Attention Seniors: Grad Night Tickets will be sold on campus this week! Bring your check payable to Davis Grad Night for $90.00 or cash. Volunteers can also instruct how to purchase online. Availability will be: Thursday, April 21: During the Senior Assembly * Friday, April 22: At lunch in the quad What's Grad Night? A spectacular, all night party for every graduating senior in Davis. Price includes all food, activities and raffle entry. Don't miss this rite of passage!
CSF Seniors: If you are graduating as an ACTIVE lifetime member, you are eligible to apply for our chapter Scholarship. Applications are available in P-13. Deadline for submission is Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 1:00 pm.

2016-2017 DSHS Dance Team - Final day to return all required forms to Coach Perez is this Friday, April 22, 2016 @ 3:30 pm. If you are interested in trying out for the Dance Team please see Coach Perez in the DSHS Main office for the required forms. The Davis Chamber of Commerce has two internship opportunities for students who want to get involved in the local business community. Tasks include social media marketing, creating promotional materials, economic development research, and help with events such as Celebrate Davis, Chamber golf tournament, Discover Davis, Installation Gala, and Chamber luncheons and mixers. Come to the Career Center for more information.
SENIORS: The last day to purchase tickets to Starry Night, the 2016 Senior Ball, is Friday, April 22. (Sales will end sooner if all the tickets are sold prior to April 22.) The last day to submit Guess Pass Applications to your Vice Principal for approval is Wednesday, April 20. Tables seat 10-- your group must buy tickets at the same time to be seated together. See the Senior Ball Table Organizer, available in the Finance Office and at the DSHS Website. Remaining sales times: Wednesday, April 20 - Before school from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.; during lunch; and after 6th period for 20 minutes Thursday, April 21 - During lunch; and after lunch for 20 minutes for students who do not have a 7th period. Friday, April 22 - During lunch; and after 5th and 6th periods. Prices: April 18 - 22 $75 with ASB; $80 without.

AP Tests are coming up so Math and Science tutors are planning to host AP reviews for Biology, Physics 1 and 2, chemistry and calculus. The review schedule is as follows: AP Calc AB/BC on Friday 4/29, AP Chemistry on Monday 4/25 and AP Bio next Tuesday 4/26.
Friday is Earth Day - Help keep the planet beautiful by using Davis High's recycling system! There are big blue bins for plastic, big green for paper and small blue for cans and bottles.
