THIS DAY IN HISTORY:

In 1913, for the first time, Henry Ford's entire Highland Park, Michigan automobile factory is run on a continuously moving assembly line, cutting the man hours for assembly of a Model T from 12.5 and 6. Within a year, more improvements reduced the time to 93 minutes, thereby accomplishing his dream of making the car affordable to ordinary customers.

Please come to the German Club today at 12 noon. We are planning activities for Homecoming, 10/11 the International on 10/12. All are welcome to join!



Would you like to participate in a cultural exchange and spend 4 weeks in Germany in the Summer of 2014? No previous knowledge of German is required. Please come to Mrs. Floyd's room, N-2 tonight at 7:30pm. Bring your parents, please!

Seniors:  Need assistance with the college selection and application process?  Counselors will be available in the Career Center to answer your questions on the following dates:  October 8, 10, 15 and 16.

Interested in Key Club? Come by S-12 Wednesday, 10/9 to hear about upcoming projects, our October social and a trip to Six Flags. All are welcome. Food will be provided.



The DHS Teen Health Awareness Club and DHS Healthcare Careers Club invite you to the first lecture in their upcoming healthcare lecture series for the 2013-14 school year. On Tuesday OCT 8th at lunchtime in S5, Dr. Katherine Eastham, Assistant Chief of Pediatrics at Kaiser Davis, will discuss "Which food groups do my Frappuccinos, Hot Cheetos, and Twinkies fit into?" Come hear her speak about healthy eating, exercise, and her career as a pediatrician. Snacks will be provided!  All students and staff are welcome to attend.



Attention Architecture & Engineering fanatics! Meeting in the Career Center, Tuesday at lunch. Be there or be a cube!



Ag Students! FFA Meeting on Wednesday, October 9th at 6pm in O-1A. We will be carving pumpkins and enjoying pumpkin flavored treats!



The City of Davis is offering their annual fall tour of northern California universities!   The next tour is Stanford University on Saturday, October 12.  Additional tours are scheduled for Chico State and San Francisco State.  Trips are $67 and include transportation, college tour, and lunch.
