Greetings from the United States Marine Band!



Presented in conjunction with the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, we are pleased to announce the application for our 2020 Concerto Competition for High School Musicians is officially open!



Designed for students enrolled in grades 9-12 during the 2019-2020 school year, this competition invites woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians to compete for a $2,500 scholarship, provided by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, and the chance to appear as a guest soloist with the U.S. Marine Band in Washington, D.C. A runner-up will also receive a $500 scholarship.



Encourage your high school musicians to apply now, or use the summer to perfect their selected piece. All application materials are due Nov. 15.

Additionally, the Marine Band recently launched Volume 5 of The Complete Marches of John Philip Sousa. With the addition of 20 new marches, you now have free access to full scores, individual parts, historical notes, recordings, performance practices, and scrolling score videos for 95 of Sousa's marches.
