[Davis Democrats Community List] Preliminary Social Media Report for October

[G Richard Yamagata]

This is a preliminary social media report for October 18, the day after
No Kings Day.

In Davis, we had over 1500 people turn out for No Kings at the G Street
Plaza. People participated in the march from all 4 march locations. I
saw various DDC members at this event. Thank you for your participation.

Nationwide, 9 million participants turned out. This is 1 million more
than the June 15th No Kings, but still short of 12 million, the magic
number. No regime has survived 3.5% of it population marching in the
streets.

I hope to start posting before sunrise footage from the 3 No Kings
events that I targeted.

In other news, the DDC social media account is pushing the new Iowa
congressional races that the club gave more money to, along with Randy
Villegas, Congressman Pan, and Marni vonWilpert.

Our efforts have not gone un-noticed. We garnered recognition from
Congressman Derek Tran CA CD45 for our help of Marni vonWilpert. The
campaign thanked us for the support, while the Tran campaign is doing
fundraising for vonWilpert. With Trump's comments inviting Iran to
nuke San Diego, the polls are putting vonWilpert as turning this red
seat Blue. The DDC supported Derek Tran with a $2000 contribution and
it is gratifying to see that campaign acknowledge as a Blue supporter of
democracy. They have even put the the DDC on a list to follow on Bluesky.

The DDC sent an additional $2000 for a total of $4000 to Marni
vonWilpert. The money and Trump seems to have won the day for Democrat
Blue in San Diego. Thank you DDC.

In Iowa, the DDC has been sending and posting campaign material and
links for the 3 targeted congressional districts.

These are Iowa Congressional Districts
Christina Bohannan Iowa CD 1, $2,000
Lindsay James Iowa CD 2, $1000
Sarah Trone Garriott Iowa CD3, $1000

Our efforts have not gone unnoticed and unrecognized by Lindsay James.
Lindsay James thanks the DDC for the support. The polls have her neck
and neck with her opponent. Any help on line or with contributions will
help push this district blue. Poll have her ahead by 2 to 3% points
over her opponent. Her website is https://www.lindsayforiowa.com. The
other two Iowa candidates Bohannan CD1 and Garriot CD3 have surged and
one has ebbed in the polls since Trump started on his campaign tour and
the current polls place Bohannan ahead by 4 to 5 points and Garriott
ahead by 0 to 3 points of their Republican opponents. Garriott has
fallen behind. Only Bohannan has what can be described as a significant
lead,
