[Davis Democrats Community List] Social Media update.

Greetings all,

As we enter into the final week before November 3, just this quick report.

The Davis Democratic Club on Bluesky has 39,295 followers.  I was hoping 
to have 40,000 by election day, but I think we will have 39,400 on Nov 
3rd.  We shall see.  We are pushing Iowa with Christina Bohannan Iowa CD 
1, Sarah Trone Garriott Iowa CD 3 and thoroughly integrated with Lindsay 
James Iowa CD 2,

In California we are pushing Mike Thompson CD4, and totally engaged with 
Dave Min CD 47, Randy Villegas CD 22, Marni vonWilpert CD 48 and Derek 
Tran CD 45.  We are being courted and have helped Mike Levin CD 49 as he 
tries to help embattled Marni von Wilpert.  The DDC did not send him 
money, but he is favored to win his district, so he is sending aid to 
CD48.  All of these California congressional campaigns are aware of the 
DDC's contributions and have acknowledged us.  The one other campaign 
that has thanked us is Lindsay James CD 2 in Iowa.  Derek Tran's 
campaign has actively helped us try to reach our 40K goal and I am 
appreciative of the effort.  Also, because it is a Blue on Blue race and 
I support Doris Matsui, I still have to acknowledge Mai Vang reached out 
and thanked the DDC for its $1000 contribution to her campaign.  The DDC 
board members that voted to send her money should take pride in her 
action of thanking the club.  Another person that thanked the club for 
its contribution is Mayra Vega.  Because of the words of appreciation, 
the DDC Bluesky and X/Twitter accounts have given its all to these 
mentioned campaigns, except for Mai Vang -- which would have done so if 
someone would have stepped up to help her campaign.  It is not too 
late.  If someone from the DDC would spearhead support for her online, 
you can carry her banner forward.  The only other campaign that the DDC 
has been promoting is Mary Peltola.  She has no presence on Bluesky or 
Twitter, but supporters of hers are on Bluesky and we have interface 
with them.  Also on Facebook, I have been using my personal account and 
sending Peltola posts to the DDC Facebook account.  The DDC Facebook 
account has picked up over a hundred more followers this campaign.  The 
DDC X/Twitter account reached 6900 followers and currently has fallen 
back to 6871 followers. Basically, we are shadow banned on X/Twitter, 
but we still make good trouble amongst the MAGA trolls.  The DDC has a 
Truth Social account, so we can see and do screen captures of the 
madness that Trump does each night he has insomnia.  But rest assured, 
we are so thoroughly shadow banned, no one see the DDC account and we 
have no followers and even have no haters.

I would like to thank Eileen Samitz and Stephen Souza who help with the 
Bluesky and X/Twitter DDC presence.  Other people that I have to thank 
are Luba Schmid and Judy Reynolds.  There are people outside of the DDC 
that that are helping that people may know and they are Roberta 
Millstein and Sue Greenwald.  Other people that have lent morale support 
are DDC Members Frank Maurer, Keith vonBorstel, Giles Giovinazzi, Ameer 
Alsawaf, Betty Woo, Helen Thomson, Carl Schmid, Marilu Carter, Rick 
Gonzales, and Bob Bockwinkel.  If I did not mention your name, send me 
an email to poke an remind me. Ameer Alsawaf, Betty Woo, and Helen 
Thomson and Frank Maurer are the reasons that I am trying to start a DDC 
presence on Next Door,  Actually Ameer is important logistically in 
aiding this effort in establishing the Next Door account.  Of course 
Eileen Samitz is a great help on all three platforms and she and Stephen 
Souza have provided timely support when critical decisions must be made 
in sponsoring content with our friends on Bluesky and X/Twitter.

To get followers, you must generate original content to post online.  
There are allies that provide such content for the DDC account, but the 
unsung hero has been Dr Frank Maurer.  He has been providing material 
that is critical of the Trump regime to the tune of 5 posts per month 
since last November.  The DDC posts get thousands of views on Bluesky 
and X/Twitter and on my personal Facebook account.  Without Dr Maurer's 
poems, the DDC would not have those eyeballs watching the DDC fight the 
Trump regime.  This month alone, Dr Maurer's prose poems have brought in 
views and followers with "Will Alberta, Canada, Become Independentt..., 
Heat Illness and Death, Requiring Black Men to Shave, Dumocrats, Walking 
Away and Penguin March."  If you have no idea what I am referring to, 
you should log into the DDC accounts.  On X/Twitter the account is

Lastly, one of the original content providers that lets me post his 
content is Pytor Alexievich, an American voice in Kyiv Ukraine.  I met 
him through my support of the Ukrainian actors studio, Amomama. The 
studio head, Igor Vysnevska, said that I should really meet this person 
online and he is a brilliant online advocate for Ukraine.  Through my 
efforts, the DDC sponsors his Tick Tock podcast quarterly.  He gives a 
great dedication to the Davis Democratic Club.  As we work to get out 
the vote to turn Congress Blue to end the Trump tyranny ruling this
