Greetings!
Attached please find the TRP trapping summary through JW 41 (Oct 14).

The Trinity River Hatchery (TRH) went into their spawning break between the spring and fall Chinook runs after their single day of spawning fish on 10/10. They are busy catching up on reading coded wire tags this week and next to make sure no fall Chinook eggs get mixed in with the spring Chinook eggs. They will begin spawning fall Chinook in Julian week 43 or so, and the coho won't be far behind.

We've seen some improvement in our fish numbers at Willow Creek (WC) this past week and look forward to seeing even more fall Chinook, coho and steelhead in the coming weeks.
I know they are waiting with bated breath to see bigger numbers at Junction City (JC). They've seen some WC tags there already (usually takes about 33 days to make it between weirs) and will be starting the TRH coho broodstock collection as soon as they get more coho.

I wanted to clarify something I wrote last week:
When I said "we've had a lot of hatchery origin steelhead with ad-clips this year" , what I meant to say was "we've had a lot of hatchery origin half pounder (less than 42 cm FL) steelhead at Willow Creek weir this year" and I sense more of them will be observed at TRH then there have been in the past, and I have decided to include those numbers in the trapping summary going forward.

For those of you newcomers to the list, please read the first tab of the worksheet so you understand the other tabs, and shoot me an email if you have any questions, always.
Cheers!
MC
