Lunch:  Happy Taco Tuesday! The ASC Café is now offering carnitas tacos in addition to chicken, ground beef and vegan tacos! Reminder! Wednesday morning the ASC Café is open for breakfast from 7:45-8:53. Come join us for an early morning breakfast on Sleep In day!

TODAY:
DSHS will be hosting guest speaker Le Ly Hayslip. Le Ly Hayslip grew up in Vietnam and survived the Vietnam War. She has written two books about her experiences, and Academy Award winning director Oliver Stone used these memoirs as the basis for his 1993 film "Heaven and Earth". Ms. Hayslip will be speaking at lunch in Brunelle Theater. She will also give a longer lecture in the Brunelle Theater beginning at 6 p.m. There is no charge for either event and the public is welcome to the 6 p.m. lecture. The English Department, RSJ, Student Government, DSHS Administration and DJUSD Administration sponsor these events.


The DHS Bike Show is coming! Hosted by the Bike Club, the show will take place on the Quad, from 8am - 1pm. There will be free prizes and bring your cool bike to win a gift card!



Want to know more about the United Arab Emirates? Come to Culture Club! Where you can learn about different cultures and gain a different perspective of cultures around the Globe. It will be happening in room P-23 at lunch. Hope to see you there!

ATHLETICS:
Interested in trying out for the JV or Varsity Field Hockey team at DSHS next year? Players and parents are invited to an information meeting on Wednesday, May 29th at 7pm in the All Student Center at DSHS. No prior field hockey experience is necessary. New varsity coach Elizabeth Hogan will be discussing the program, season, expectations and summer training sessions.
Sports Physical Clinic! Saturday, June 1st 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Sutter Family Medicine 2030 Sutter Pl., Suite 2000. Athletes in grades 7-12 are encouraged to complete their sports physicals this spring for the 2019-20 school year. $20 donation benefits DSHS Athletics. ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
DHS Pops Concert on June 1 at 7pm in Brunelle - Join us for a fun-filled evening of pop music featuring all the DHS choirs, including ATC, Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, and Madrigals. The concert will include familiar favorites, including recent hits from the Broadway musical Hamilton. Seniors: If you have a religious or medical reason that necessitates leaving the graduation ceremony early, please contact Vice Principal Amelia Hess as soon as possible.
HEY SENIORS! THIS IS YOUR TIME TO CELEBRATE!  Davis Grad Night is FRIDAY JUNE 14th - 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for all DJUSD Graduating Seniors. Your ticket includes food all night, entertainment, hundreds of raffle prizes and so much more. Don't miss this one last time to celebrate graduation with EVERYONE. It's yearbook time! Beginning at lunch on May 29th through the 31st at lunch, please pick up your yearbook in the South gym. Wednesday is senior pick up day, Thursday for Juniors and Sophomores, and Friday is open pick up day. If you would like to purchase a yearbook, please visit the Finance office at lunch beginning May 29th.

CLUBS:

APUSH Meeting for Next Year's Juniors: There is a mandatory meeting for students signed up for AP US History NEXT WED MAY 29th at the beginning of lunch in the library. Bring your student ID in order to check out the textbook and receive the Summer Assignment. The meeting starts at 12:15pm. See you there!



We meet every other Monday during lunch in the Student Success Center in the office. Come and experience the unity among the Latino Community. Our next meeting will be June 3rd.
