THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1883 - After 14 years of construction the Brooklyn Bridge was opened to traffic.

MENU DHS:

  *   Breakfast Served Daily:  Cereal w/Graham Cracker, Breakfast Pizza, Assorted Breakfast Sandwiches, Scones, Breakfast Burrito, Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla, Pancakes w/ Sausage, Assorted Muffins, Chicken & Biscuit Slider, Yogurt Parfait w/Graham Cracker.

Lunch: Happy Burrito Day! The ASC Café is now offering burrito bowls in addition to our burritos. We are now serving chicken, beef and nacho cheese, bean and cheese, and veggie (vegan) burritos!

TODAY:
Korean Culture Club has a fun jeopardy held at lunch, at the quad! When you participate, if you place on one of the top three places the prizes will vary depending on your place but it will consists of posters, albums, and more! For questions, come to P-24 for more information! We hope to see you there!

Brace yourselves... the last CSF general meeting is TODAY! Join us in P-13 at lunch. As we go over some new projects, and talk about when you can turn in your hours form (green sheet).

ATHLETICS:
Track & Field, COED - CIF State Meet @ Buchanan HS                        all-day: select roster
Interested in trying out for the JV or Varsity Field Hockey team at DSHS next year? Players and parents are invited to an information meeting on Wednesday, May 29th at 7pm in the All Student Center at DSHS.  No prior field hockey experience is necessary.  New varsity coach Elizabeth Hogan will be discussing the program, season, expectations and summer training sessions.
Sports Physical Clinic! Saturday, June 1st 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Sutter Family Medicine 2030 Sutter Pl., Suite 2000. Athletes in grades 7-12 are encouraged to complete their sports physicals this spring for the 2019-20 school year. $20 donation benefits DSHS Athletics. ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:
DHS Pops Concert on June 1 at 7pm in Brunelle - Join us for a fun-filled evening of pop music featuring all the DHS choirs, including ATC, Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, and Madrigals. The concert will include familiar favorites, including recent hits from the Broadway musical Hamilton. Seniors: If you have a religious or medical reason that necessitates leaving the graduation ceremony early, please contact Vice Principal Amelia Hess as soon as possible.

HEY SENIORS!  THIS IS YOUR TIME TO CELEBRATE!  Davis Grad Night is FRIDAY JUNE 14th -  9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for all DJUSD Graduating Seniors. Your ticket includes food all night, entertainment, hundreds of raffle prizes and so much more. Don't miss this one last time to celebrate graduation with EVERYONE. It's yearbook time! Beginning at lunch on May 29th through the 31st at lunch, please pick up your yearbook in the South gym. Wednesday is senior pick up day, Thursday for Juniors and Sophomores, and Friday is open pick up day. If you would like to purchase a yearbook, please visit the Finance office at lunch beginning May 29th.

CLUBS:

APUSH Meeting for Next Year's Juniors: There is a mandatory meeting for students signed up for AP US History NEXT WED MAY 29th at the beginning of lunch in the library. Bring your student ID in order to check out the textbook and receive the Summer Assignment. The meeting starts at 12:15pm. See you there!

On Tuesday, May 28th, DSHS will be hosting guest speaker Le Ly Hayslip. Le Ly Hayslip grew up in Vietnam and survived the Vietnam War.  She has written two books about her experiences, and Academy Award winning director Oliver Stone used these memoirs as the basis for his 1993 film "Heaven and Earth". Ms. Hayslip will be speaking on Tuesday, May 28th at lunch in Brunelle Theater.  She will also give a longer lecture on May 28th in Brunelle Theater beginning at 6 p.m.  There is no charge for either event and the public is welcome to the 6 p.m. lecture. The English Department, RSJ, Student Government, DSHS Administration and DJUSD Administration sponsor these events.



We meet every other Monday during lunch in the Student Success Center in the office. Come and experience the unity among the Latino Community. Our next meeting will be June 3rd.



The DHS Bike Show is coming! Hosted by the Bike Club, the show will take place on the Quad, Tuesday, May 28th at 8am - 1pm. There will be free prizes and bring your cool bike to win a gift card!
