THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1517 - Martin Luther posted the 95 Theses on the door of the Wittenberg Palace Church. The event marked the start of the Protestant Reformation in Germany.

Youth Truth Family Survey: Please participate in an important Youth Truth Family Survey.  This survey will help us to even better serve the families at Davis Senior High School. SENIORS! Do you know about the tradition of Davis Grad Night?  Davis Grad Night is a fun, safe and sober all-night celebration for graduating seniors from the four high schools within the District (Davis Senior High School, DaVinci High School, Martin Luther King High School and DSIS).  The party is held at Emerson Junior High School, with the entire campus transformed into a nightclub filled with activities, hundreds of raffle prizes and an all-night cafe.  The decorations theme changes every year and is top secret until it is revealed at Grad Night. About 90% of the graduating class attends the event. Come to the NRA Club in S-2 on Tuesday, November 6th. We will be discussing appropriate safety and use of general firearms in the U.S.

Pick up a Trivia Bowl Application in ASC 100. Trivia Bowl is a jeopardy- style trivia competition about science, math, history, literature and popular culture. Prizes for the winning team. Applications are due November 9th.

Guys, gals and nonbinary pals! Come to the GSA meeting this Friday at lunch in Ms. Istas room, L -29 up the stairs on the right side of the library.

CAREERS:
Korematsu Elementary School has a volunteer opportunity for an assistant coach for Girls on the Run, an organization that helps girls develop strength and leadership through running.   The assistant coach will work with 4th and 5th grade girls Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 - 4:45.  Deadline to apply is October 31.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
Sci-Tech charter school in Knights Landing is looking for volunteers to help with their annual Harvest/Dia de los Muertos Festival on November 9th from 5-8pm in Knights Landing.  Volunteers will help serve food, and staff games and crafts booths.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
SENIORS:  Need free money for college?  Then you should come to the DHS FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP on Thursday November 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the All Student Center.  At the workshop you'll learn about the many types of student financial aid and how to complete financial aid applications.  All seniors and their parents are invited to attend.
