Seniors: Are you interested in giving a speech at the 2018 Graduation Ceremony? Please see Marlen Cabrera in the front office if you have any questions.  All applications are due TODAY at 4:00 p.m. No late speeches will be accepted.


This week, the Environmental Protection Agency is officially beginning to roll back Obama Era Car Fuel efficiency requirements. To learn more about the Trump administration's environmental policy changes & more, come to DHS Politics Club at lunch in N-2.



Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! Come to the GSA meeting in Mr. Moore's room, P-21, on the second floor near the elevator.

This week China released a plan to place 25% tariffs on soybeans imported from the US, sparking fears of a looming trade war between the two economics powers. To discuss these recent events and more, come to DHS Politics Club in

N-2 today.

ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:

Please come watch your favorite dancers at So You Think You Can Dance this Saturday, April 7th at 7:00 pm in the Brunelle Theatre.  Contestants include Ace Gimenez, Hannah Huang, Helena Leslie, Maeve Kelly, Annie Cui, Sofia Martin, Angela Velasquez, Shay Thompson, the Advanced Treble Choir and more!  Tickets are $5 in advance from any ATC student or Mrs. Gardias.  See you there!


The District Office is now accepting applications for Summer Custodians for High School Students.  You must be available to work from June 11, 2018-August 24, 2018, 40 hours/week from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., hours differ based on sites assigned.  Applications are available at the District Office Front Desk, 526 B Street from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Senior Ball Tickets sale starts April 16th -30th: $75 with ASB $80 Without ASB at the finance office during lunch ONLY.

CLUBS:
DHS Red Cross Club will be holding its spring blood drive on Friday April 13th. You must be at least 16 years old and weight at least 110lbs. to donate blood. Sign-ups are in the quad all the way to the day before the drive 4/12. If you participate, you will get a free t-shirt and the opportunity to save lives.

Applications are now available for Open Mic Night. This is an opportunity to showcase your talents. Feel free to be creative with your performance but all are welcome poetry, comedy and signing. Apps. Are due April 20th in ASC.



Hey CSF! If you are a Senior, don't forget to go to P-13 to initial beside your name. There are two lists that list the active lifetime members and lifetime members. You will not receive the appropriate recognition without an initial. The list will be taken down by April 12th.



Best Buddies is having a spread the word to end the word week next week! Make sure to go to the quad to pledge to not use the R-word and to experience what it's like to have a disability.



If you have been part of the DSH Drama Department and would like to be even more involved in outing on the wonderful shows next year, applications for the 2018- 19 executive drama board can be found in P-11 next week.

CAREERS:
Sacramento City College has reserved additional Assessment Exam dates for high school students who still need to take the exam at the Davis Center.  Students must take the Assessment Exam before enrolling at Sacramento City College.  Come to the Career Center for the list of special exam dates.
Seniors of East Indian ethnicity can now apply for the India Association of Davis Scholarship.  Come to the Career Center for an application.
Pioneer Elementary School is looking for high school hip-hop dance instructors for 5th and 6th grade students.  Dance activities take place two or three times per week during lunch at Pioneer. Student instructors will receive a $300 stipend.   Come to the Career Center for more information.

Juniors and Seniors:  The California Latino Capitol Association Foundation is offering its annual Summer Internship Program for high school students.  Students will intern for an Assembly member, State Senator, or an advocacy organization in Sacramento this summer, and will gain meaningful professional experience in public service. Come to the Career Center for more information.
