Spring Break in Costa Rica: Today is the last day to sign up for the Costa Rica trip.  See Ms. Tessler in counseling for details.

Who should practice mindfulness? Everyone who would like to feel calmer, more connected, and generally happier. Mindfulness training will be held in room O-5 from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m. For more information contact Ms. Tabor in O-5.

The Girl up Club will be hosting its first meeting today! If you are interested in joining a world- wide community focused on advocating for female leadership, health, and education, please join us in L-29!

If so, come to the Career Center after school at 2:40 pm to hear a Sacramento City College representative discuss what college is really like, how to choose a major, when and how to apply, paying for college and more! Attention Winter Sport ILS Athletes:  Come to your mandatory class meeting on Thursday, 11/16, 7th period block, in the small gym.  Please arrive on time.  For ILS students with a free 1st period, please come to your mandatory class meeting the following day, Friday, during 1st period in the small gym.

Friday, November 17th, is the deadline for submitting information and articles for the December Davis High School PTA newsletter. Please send news, announcements, etc. to the DHS PTA Media Listserve at DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org<mailto:DHSPTAmedia at mailman.dcn.org>.Be sure to include your name, email address and phone number in case the newsletter editor has questions about your submission and also note that not every submission will be automatically included. Inclusion is at the discretion of our communications committee and is subject to timing, the appropriate venue(s), and frequency of the request(s).The newsletter is the ONLY communication tool that reaches ALL DHS families, whether they have internet access or not. The newsletter is generally published around the first of each month.  This is a great way to inform, notify or enlist parents' help for upcoming DHS school and student activities.

Attention Senior Parents! Can you believe it is already time to start thinking about Grad Night? Grad Night tickets are now on sale. Every graduating senior in Davis (DaVinci, DSIS, King and DHS) is welcome to celebrate at this All-night, alcohol and drug free party on Friday, June 8th from 9:30 pm- 5:00am. Ticket includes all activities, food, and raffle entry.



 HEALTH:

A friendly reminder from your School Nurse: Washing your hands is the best way to outsmart the pesky germs that love winter weather. Use soap & sing the ABC's for best handwashing practice.

CLUBS:
Are you interested in Politics and Debate? If so, come to N-2 this Thursday for DHS Politics Club! See you there!

Support BSU by buying pizza at Papa Johns on Nov. 19th. Buy pizza and P.J's will donate 20% to DHS BSU!

Trivia Bowl! Yay it's that time of the year again. Tricia bowl is a super-duper competition where students answer a few questions with the chance to win an amazing prize! Applications are in N1-A, the student government room, and are due before 7th period on Friday, November 17th. Hope to see you sign up!

Hey CSF, there is a general meeting this Friday, November 17th, at lunch in room P-13. Come to hear more volunteer opportunities. Hope to see you there!

Guys, gals, and non-binary pals! The GSA will be having a meeting this Friday at lunch in Mr. Moore's room, P-21, on the second floor near the elevator. We will see you there!

Davis High Canned Food Drive ends this Friday, November 17th. Remember the classes with the most cans collected get a Chipotle Party! Donate cans to your respected 4th period class!

CAREER:
It's time to sign-up for this month's free Financial Literacy class to be held in the Career Center on Friday, November 17 at lunch from 12:00 - 12:42.  Pizza will be provided!  The DHS PTA, in partnership with the Yolo Federal Credit Union, is hosting this month's class titled "Money Management, Part 2".  The class will focus on budgeting and financial goals.  All students are welcome to attend. The class is limited to 30 students so come to the Career Center to sign up.
