Reminder to all DHS girls interested in playing softball for DHS this spring: There is a parent/player meeting in the DHS Library at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28th.  If you have any interest in playing at either the JV or Varsity level please attend.

If you are interested in the galaxy and science, try out the Astronomy Club! Meetings are in S-2 every other Wednesday, including next Wednesday, September 28th. Hope to see you there.

Attention all 4th period classes: The Homecoming Door Decoration contest started on Wednesday, September 21. All classes will receive a starter kit and the participating classes will be judged on September 28th.  The winning class will receive a pizza party so we hope to see some awesome designs!

If you are interested in learning about the United States Army, come to the quad at lunch on Wednesday, September 28th to speak to an Army representative.

The first Art Club meeting is today, Wednesday, September 28th during lunch in O-4.  We welcome anyone who is interested in art.  Hope to see you there!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS: Attention, NHS members: There has been some confusion about the registration announcement.  NHS will extend registration which will take place at the first NHS meeting in S-12 on October 3.  At our first meeting, we will talk about general information of NHS and community service projects.  If you are registering, please bring $5, your report and your hours sheet if you are a returning member.

Want to read a play and eat some free food?  ACME Theater and the DHS GSA present a reading of Orlando: the story of an Elizabethan nobleman who becomes an immortal woman over the course of centuries.  All are welcome - just show up at Room S-1 this Friday from 3:45-6:00.

The world-renowned HOCO Spirit Week is here!  The week kicked off with 'Murica Monday,' followed by 'Trucker Tuesday,' 'Where'd you go Wednesday,' and 'Jet Lag Thursday.'  The week will end in 'Keep Davis Blue' Friday.  Make sure you wear that blue to the Homecoming game that night!

Back to School Night is next Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:10pm. Student Government will host a BBQ in the Quad at 5:30pm. Make sure to tell your parents to mark their calendars!!

Come watch the Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 30th starting at 1:15.  The parade will start at Central Park and make its way back to DHS.

Do you have a special someone that want to boogie with all the way around the world? Come to the Fall Dance!  Tickets sold 9/21 to 9/29 at lunch in the Finance Office are $10 with ASB and $15 without.  Come and have a globally good time!

ACADEMICS: PSAT is Saturday, 10/15!! The cost is $24.00. There are NO Refunds and no transfers. Sales end 10/3. There are a limited number of tests available. Sacramento City College is hosting a Preview Day on Saturday, October 15 from 1:00 - 5:00 at the Sacramento campus.  The event will feature information on financial aid, how to apply to Sac City, tours of the campus, informational booths, performances, and much more!  Come to the Career Center for more information.

Hey Juniors! Want to be in the Homecoming Parade or get some volunteer hours?  Help build the Junior Class float from September 26th - 29th from 3:30-8:00.  Feel free to stop by for either the whole time or just for an hour.  It's up to you! For more information, come to N1-A at lunch.

CLUBS:  The DHS Car Club is moving the meetings to Tuesdays at lunch in the auto shop!  We are also holding a t-shirt design contest for the 2016-2017 Car Club Shirt!
