ANNOUNCEMENTS: It's college visit time! Visits from college admission representatives will take place in the Career Center starting Tuesday, September 8! Dates and times of college visits are posted outside the Career Center and on Naviance. Students must sign up on Naviance prior to attending a college visit and must check in with their teacher before leaving class to attend a visit. Come to the Career Center if you need help with Naviance or for more information about college visits!
Are you interested in being a Walker Creek CABIN LEADER? If so, cabin leaders are needed for Pioneer Elementary. Cabin leaders must work well with children, and have an outgoing personality with an enthusiasm for the outdoors. Guys are encouraged to apply! Applications are available in the Career Center.
Interested in Sports Medicine or Athletic Training? The Davis Senior High School Athletic Trainer is looking for someone that is working in this field. Please contact the Athletic Department for more information.
Hey Devils! As you might already know, the Homecoming Parade is coming up next month. If you know of a class, club, or sport that wants to be included, pick up application forms in C-4 by September 21st and we will see you there!
CLUBS/EVENTS: The DHS Car Club will be holding its first meeting at lunch on Thursday, Sept 10th in O-3. You are invited! The DHS car club is for students who love cars. At the first meeting, we will be planning for homecoming week and getting to know new members. The club will make an annual trip to K1 Cart Racing in Sacramento, organize parties and host the Devil Day Car Show in the Spring. What do you want to do in car club this year? Bring your ideas and your energy. The sky's the limit. Hope to see you in car club this year!
The First Japanese Club Meeting is meeting next week on Wednesday, September 9th. If you want to learn more about Japanese culture, then this is the club for you!
The Math and Science Tutors Club (MAST) will be holding an informational meeting at lunch on Wednesday, September 9 in Room S-9. If you are interested in helping your peers and enjoy math and science, come on by. Hope to see you!

ACADEMICS/CAREER/VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Internship Opportunity! The UC Davis Burrowing Owl Preservation Society is offering an internship for high school students to help with burrowing owl habitat restoration and management, installing and managing artificial burrows, vet monitoring, owl monitoring, etc. Come to the Career Center, located in the library for more information.
Davis Media Access is offering a four-month, non-paid internship where students can gain hands-on experience and exposure to many aspects of community television production, including video coverage of DJUSD events. Interns must be at least 16 years old and able to work 3-6 hours per week. The deadline to apply is September 16. Come to the Career Center for more information.
Attention ALL FALL sport athletes enrolled in INDEPENDENT LIFETIME SPORTS: please attend the mandatory informational meeting next Friday, September 11th, during 7th period, in the small gym. Just a reminder, you must have made your Fall sports team roster, and already be enrolled in the course to earn credit for this course. Please be on time.
Help for College! There will be a College Application Workshop at lunchtime on September 9 in the South Gym. On September 10th at 7:00 pm in the Brunelle Theater is a UC Workshop. On September 17th, we will have a CSU Workshop at 7:00 pm in the Brunelle Theater.
