Dear DSHS Parents,

As part of our commitment to safety of our students and our campus, I am proud to announce that Davis Senior High School, along with other schools in our district, is adopting a new system for visitor registration called the Raptor Visitor Identification System.

Maintaining the safety of students and staff is our highest priority. Beginning on June 1, the Raptor system will be used to scan a visitor's driver's license (or other form of government issued identification), compare information against the national Registered Sex Offender database and alert school officials if a match is found.

The Raptor system will also provide a consistent way for tracking visitors and volunteers by printing badges with the visitor's name, photo and campus destination. Please note, procedures are in place to positively engage any visitor who may be flagged by the system to still consider the validity of the request to visit the school.

Davis Senior High School is excited to be launching this new visitor registration effort. This letter is to advise you that all visitors will be required to scan their government issued identification the first time they visit campus. Visitors will only be required to produce their ID once, at which time data will be stored in the Raptor system for future visits. Please note, Davis Senior High School will not require visitor registration for anyone dropping something off or conducting business within the office.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation as we launch this important new security effort.

Sincerely,

William Brown, Principal
Davis Senior High School
