Independent Lifetime Sports:  If you are planning on earning your PE credits through your spring sport, please plan to
attend the mandatory information meeting on Wednesday, February 18th at 2:30 in the small gym.  This meeting is for
all athletes who made the final roster selection for their spring sport team and will go over the course and hand out all
assignments for the course.  Attendance for the entire meeting is mandatory in order to receive the info and be enrolled
in the course.  Please be on time.  The meeting should last about 30 minutes.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  AP students: AP exams are now on sale at the web store only. If you are in need of
financial assistance, please contact your counselor immediately.

TODAY:  OOGA-CHAKA OOGA-OOGA OOGA-CHAKA OOGA-OOGA! Can't stop that feeling of friendship? Come to the
quad at lunch on Tuesday, February 17, to sign up and come to the next and FINAL Friendship Day of the year to get
hooked on friendship!  Serenations by facilitators sold separately!

Happy Chinese New Year!  Come to the quad this Tuesday for activities, prizes and other information at lunch!

Interested in French language, food, culture and music?  Come join the French Club every Tuesday at lunch in Mr.
Curley's room, O-4.  See you there!

ACADEMICS/CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES:    Interested in volunteering to build a school in Nicaragua this summer?  Join us
for an Information Night and learn about the program Seeds of Learning (SOL) ON February 23 from 7:00-8:15 pm in the
DHS Library.  Each year, groups of Davis teachers, students and parents travel to Nicaragua for 10 days to build a school.
The trip is scheduled for August 3rd - 14th, 2015.  Niki Reina-Guerra (5th grade teacher, Willett) and Jenny Decker are
the leaders.  We can have up to 23 people in the group.  You can read more at www.seedsoflearning.org or call Ms.
Decker at 530-574-0335.  This is a fantastic opportunity for Spanish immersion, cultural exchange, some hard work and
an all-around once-in-a-lifetime trip.  Spanish speaking is not necessary; join us!

If you are interested in attending Sacramento City College or American River College next fall, attend their free Saturday
enrollment events. Representatives at each school will guide you step by step through the enrollment process.  It makes
applying easy!  Space is limited, so sign up soon!  Come to the Career Center for information on how to register for the
Saturday sessions.

UC Davis is hosting Financial Aid Awareness Week February 18-20 on the UCD Campus.  Financial aid professionals will
be available to help students and parents complete FAFSA or DREAM Act applications.  Come to the Career Center for
more information!

It's College Tour time!  The City of Davis is planning its annual So-Cal College Tour Trip for high school students.  Colleges
on the tour are UC Santa Cruz, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, UC Santa Barbara, University of Southern California and UCLA.
The trip will take place the week of March 23-26.  Cost is $515 which includes transportation, college tours, breakfast,
dinner and hotels.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

Any student wishing to take AP Art Studio next year must turn in their art portfolio by Wednesday, Feb 18th.  They can
be turned in to any art teacher.

All entering 10th-12th grade students are invited to audition for the Davis Madrigal Singers for the 2015-2016 school
year.  Auditions will be held March 9th-12th in the DHS music rooms (PA3 and PA8).  There will be an informational
meeting on Wednesday, March 4 at 4:00 inPA8.  The meeting is not mandatory but please come if you have questions
about the ensembles or the audition process.  Full information and auditions forms can be found in the Front Office of

CLUBS/EVENTS:  This is Week of Kindness! Come out to the quad on Tuesday to make free hug shirts, Wednesday for
face painting and Friday for a balloon release.  Kindness grams and kindness t-shirts will be sold all week in the quad.
 The shirts will be sold for $5.00 w/ ASB and $7.00 without.

Who wants to see Charlie Harris trip and fall while trying to dunk?  Come watch the Student-Staff Basketball Game on
Thursday night at 6:00 pm in the small gym!

Davis Pentathlon on March 29th!  The U.S. Pentathlon is joining with Davis Fencing Academy, DART Swimming and other
local sport groups to offer the first Davis Pentathlon! No experience is necessary.  An open practice will be held March
28th and other practices will be available.  The event will consist of fencing, laser pistol shooting, swimming and running.

National Honors Society registration is taking place for the next 2 weeks in room S-12. Bring $5.00 and your school ID to
register.

CSF registration for the spring semester starts this week, February 17th. Bring $5.00, your report card and the pink CSF
sheets to room P-13 to register.

Hey Key Clubbers! Our first general meeting of the Spring term is tomorrow, Wednesday, February 18th in S-12 at lunch.
