THIS DAY IN HISTORY:  1994 - "Nature" magazine announced that a complete skull of Australppithecus
afarensis had been found in Ethiopia. The finding is of humankind's earliest ancestor.

MARCH IS WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH:   On this day in 1776, Abigail Adams wrote to her husband, John
Adams, "If particular care and attention is not paid to the ladies, we are determined to foment a
rebellion and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation.

SAVE THE DATE!  Sports Physical Clinic at Sutter Family Medicine, 2030 Sutter Place, Davis - Saturday,
June 7th from 8:30-11:30 am - $20. donation benefits DHS Athletics Department.   Athletes in grades 7-
12 are encouraged to complete their sports physicals this spring to be ready for the 2014-15 school year.

SENIORS:  Are you interested in speaking at your graduation ceremony?  If yes, pick up an application
form from Vice Principal McHale in the office this week.   Applications are due by noon on Friday, April 4.

Seniors, it's that time you have all been waiting for! Senior Ball is here!  Ticket sales begin April 8th with
prices starting at $60. with ASB and $70 without ASB.  Prices will increase weekly!  Tickets are available
at lunch at the Finance Office window from April 8th to April 25th.  If you have financial needs regarding
Senior Ball tickets, please talk to your counselor.

ACADEMICS/COLLEGE INFO:   Are you an English learner looking to improve your school?  The next ELAC
is April 1st, after break.  Ask your English teacher or visit Mr. Vasquez in L-10 to find out how you can
help improve the DHS experience for all students learning English.

Students interested in pursuing a career in Veterinary Medicine are invited to attend UC Davis' School of
Veterinary Medicine "Future Day" on Saturday, April 19 from 8:30-3:00.  Future Day is a free event for
students and will focus on veterinary medicine and interactive labs.  The event is free and includes a
light breakfast, lunch and refreshments.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

CLUBS/EVENTS:  Seniors!  Do you want to be featured at prom?  Bring a copy of pictures of you and
friends to C-4 starting March 31 through April 16.  You'll want to be included on the prom poster!

Student Forum meets Wednesday, April 2nd at lunch in Room L-22.  Come share your opinions!  Treats
provided!

Hello DHS unicyclers!  We want you to have a blast rolling around on one wheel every Thursday lunch at
N-4!  We have a great community and great fun!  Join now!
There will be a Chinese Club meeting on Tuesday.  Come to T-3 for Chinese papercutting.

GRAD NIGHT:  Seniors!  Don't forget that ticket prices will go up if you wait until June to purchase your
ticket! Please go to davisgradnight.org and either purchase the ticket online or download the ticket form
and mail in with your check.  Don't forget to send a kindergarten picture of yourself (with a self-
addressed, stamped envelope for return) for the "Kinder Wall."  Scanned pictures of good quality are
OK!  Don't wait until the ticket price goes up!
