THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1998 - The first female ice hockey game in Olympic history was played. Finland beat Sweden 6-0.

ATHLETICS: There will be an informational meeting for all boys, grades 9 - 12 and their parents who are interested in
playing for the 2015 Blue Devil Boys' golf team on Wednesday 12/10 in N5 at 7:00 pm. If you cannot make the meeting,
please contact coach Ronning by email at kronning at djusd.net.

Play Rugby!   No one is too big or too small to play and no experience is necessary.  Come out to a December practice in
the football stadium on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30-7:30 pm.  We are forming both boys and girls
teams.  Contact Head Coach, Andy Malpass at andy at aj-construction.com with questions.

TODAY:    Have lunch at school today, Monday, December 8th! It will be obvious once you step out of class why you
won't want to leave; join us in the quad to watch five of the world's top professional skateboarders, inline skaters and
BMX riders from the X Games perform on a state-of-the-art half-pipe!

The Spanish Tutoring Club is meeting today at lunch in O-6.  We will be making posters about lunchtime tutoring.  All are
welcome!

The Healthcare Careers Club will meet in the Career Center today and Wednesday, December 10th at lunchtime.  There
will be two OB doctors and a registered nurse of anesthetics speaking about their medical careers.  See you in the Career
Center on Monday and Wednesday!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Attention AP students: AP exams are available for purchase in the Webstore now!
$97.00 per test.  NO refunds, so purchase carefully!  Stay tuned for more information, including dates for in person sales
in March.

Attention all DHS students: DHS sweats are now available for purchase from the FINANCE OFFICE!  Sweatshirts are
available in Royal Blue, Grey and Navy and come in either hoodie or crew-neck styles.  Sweatpants are available in Royal
Blue only.  The cost for the hoodie is $20, crew neck sweatshirts and sweatpants are $15.  Purchase quick before they
sell out!

Please place recycle materials in proper containers.  The cardboard bin is near the trash dumpster.  If you don't know,
please ask somebody.  Davis Waste Removal will not dump containers with improper materials.

ACADEMICS/CAREERS:   Be prepared for your math and science finals!  Come to S-9 at lunch Monday through Thursday
for tutoring by Math and Science Tutors Club!

CLUBS/EVENTS:   The Cancer Awareness Club Fact of the Week!  Although cancer in children is rare, it is the leading
cause of death by disease past infancy among children in the U.S.

The Cancer Awareness Club is hosting a toy drive for the UCD Children's Hospital.  Come to N-12 and donate a new toy!

Come join Chinese Club in T-3 on Tuesday, December 9th at lunch.  We will be watching a Chinese movie with English
subtitles.

Hey Key Clubbers! Come to our 4th general meeting of the semester this Wednesday, December 10th in Room S-12 at
lunch.  Stop by to learn about new projects and grab some food!  See you all there!

Interested in French food, language, culture, movies and/or tutoring?  Come join us in French Club every Tuesday at
lunch in Room O-4, Mr. Curley's room.

Davis High School Rent-A-Band for the Holidays! Planning a holiday party for home or business?  Make it truly special
with a live musical performance by DHS Band students.  A band ensemble of 6-12 players will serenade you for $200 for
one hour.  Piano soloists ($80 per hour) may also be available.  Donating a performance makes a great gift for a nursing
home or a non-profit organization.  Proceeds support the DHS Band program.  Contact Diane Layman (530) 574-3565 or
