THIS DAY IN HISTORY:  1945 - The so-called "Lost Squadron" disappeared. The five U.S. Navy Avenger bombers carrying
14 Navy flyers began a training mission at the Ft. Lauderdale Naval Air Station. They were never heard from again.

Play Rugby!   No one is too big or too small to play, and no experience is necessary.  Come out to a December practice in
the football stadium on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30-7:30 pm.  We are forming both boys and girls
teams.  Contact Head Coach Andy Malpass at andy at aj-construction.com with questions.

TODAY:  Attention all WINTER ILS students:  just a reminder that assignment #2 is due today, Friday... and also, get assignment
#1 turned in this week if you have not done so already.  Email your instructor with any questions.  Good luck in practices
and games this week.

Attention Seniors! Today, Friday is the last day to submit your senior ad!  Pick up and turn in order forms in Mr.
Achimore's room, P-21 or visit the yearbook tab on School Loop!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Attention all DHS students: DHS sweats are now available for purchase from the
FINANCE WINDOW! Sweatshirts are available in Royal Blue, Grey and Navy and come in either hoodie or crew-neck
styles.  Sweatpants are available in Royal Blue only.  The cost for the hoodie is $20, crew neck sweatshirts and
sweatpants are $15.  Purchase quick before they sell out!

ACADEMICS/CAREERS:   Need help in math or science?  Come to S-9 at lunch Monday through Thursday for tutoring by
Math and Science Tutors Club!

CLUBS/EVENTS:   Make sure you bring your lunch to school this Monday, December 8th! It will be obvious once you step
out of class why you won't want to leave; join us in the quad to watch five of the world's top professional skateboarders,
inline skaters and BMX riders from the X Games perform on a state-of-the-art half-pipe!

The Cancer Awareness Club Fact of the Week!  Although cancer in children is rare, it is the leading cause of death by
disease past infancy among children in the U.S.

The Cancer Awareness Club is hosting a toy drive for the UCD Children's Hospital.  Come to N-12 and donate a new toy!

Come join Chinese Club in T-3 on Tuesday, December 9th at lunch.  We will be watching a Chinese movie with English
subtitles.

The Healthcare Careers Club will meet in the Career Center on Monday, December 8th and Wednesday, December 10th
at lunchtime.  There will be two OB doctors and a registered nurse of anesthetics speaking about their medical careers.
See you in the Career Center on Monday and Wednesday!

Interested in French food, language, culture, movies or tutoring?  Come join us in French Club every Tuesday at lunch in
Room O-4, Mr. Curley's room.

The Spanish Tutoring Club is meeting on Monday, December 8th at lunch in O-6.  We will be making posters about
lunchtime tutoring.  All are welcome!
