In 1987, in an event that had viewers around the world glued to their televisions, 18-month-old Jessica McClure is rescued after being trapped for 58 hours in an abandoned water well in Midland, Texas.

PSAT sales continue today at lunch and on the DSHS webstore. The test is this Saturday, 10/19! Arrive to N-4 by 7:45am for your room assignment. Test begins at 8am- no late entry! MUST BRING PHOTO ID! No Cell phones!



Come to the United Nations Meeting today during lunch in P-25 for information on the Berkeley conference.



Ready Set SNOW!  The DHS Snowboard Team sign up meeting will be held tonight at 7pm in the DHS Library.  Interested athletes and a parent or guardian must attend to complete important paperwork for team participation.  The Coaching staff members and On the Hill training staff will be present to provide information and answer questions.  Meet your teammates, obtain practice and race information and get ready to ride! Contact Head Coach Marcia Heller at 530-400-5557 with questions or if you need additional information.



Seniors:  Need assistance with the college selection and application process?  Counselors will be available in the Career Center at lunch to answer your questions. Today is the last day!



NEW/ONGOING/UPCOMING:

College visits continue throughout October!  Go to Naviance or come to the Career Center to see the list of college visits.   Upcoming college visits include Cal Poly, Willamette, Oregon State, Scripps, and more!



The City of Davis continues to tour northern California universities!   The next tour is Chico State on Saturday, October 19.  The cost is $67 and includes transportation, college tour, and lunch.  Go online to www.davisteenscene.org or come to the Career Center in for more information.



The GSA meets Friday @ lunch in L-28.  Everyone, of course, is welcome!



Do you enjoy music from around the world? If so, come to the World Music Club Fridays in Mr. Oster's class - P22. We listen to a variety of music from around the world and your input is welcome. We have brownies!



There will be a CSF meeting this Friday at lunch in P-13, Mrs. O'Brien's room. Stop by to sign up for some upcoming community service projects and complete those two mandatory meetings for each semester. See you there!



Hey Blue Devils! If you received an invitation to Friendship Day on October 18th, be sure to turn in your permission slip to the Front Office as soon as possible. The deadline to turn in your form is tomorrow, October 17th. Don't miss out on this awesome opportunity! Turn in your forms and we'll see you at Friendship day!



Elementary Night at DHS Football! All elementary school families are invited to join us for a night of football and hometown spirit! Friday, October 18 vs Franklin. JV game at 5:00pm; Varsity game at 7:15pm. $7-adults; $4-seniors. Up to four free elementary students (grades K-6) per paying adult.



Students on Free and Reduced Lunch: last year's applications have expired. If you want to continue with program, please turn in a new application at the Snack Bar or Cafeteria.



Are you interested in learning to Unicycle? Do you want to join a fun new club with great leadership? If so, please come to N-4 every Thursday at lunch to join the Davis Blue Devil Unicycling Club! We hope you have a blast learning to roll around on one wheel and can't wait to see you there!



Korematsu Elementary still needs high school boys and girls to be cabin leaders at Walker Creek camp for the week of December 2-6. The deadline to submit applications has been extended to today, October 16.  Come to the Career Center for an application.



If you purchased pictures, your packets are in the Career Center. Come pick them up! They will NOT be delivered to you!



Seniors! Senior ad deadlines are approaching - the 1st one is October 25th for 1/8 of a page. Have your parents order online at dhsyearbook.com or pick up a form in Mr. Achimore's room P-21.



Clubs! If you want your club to be in the yearbook, pick up a form in P-21 to sign-up for a time. Turn in your form by November 1st and its first come, first served, so don't wait!



Please note: our campus will be closed to the public at 1pm on Thursday, 10/17 for Articulation.
