DSHS administrative offices will be closed on Monday January 21 and Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
Staff will resume handling work permits, transcript requests and schedule inquiries on Wednesday, January 23rd.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY:  1995 - A network of caves were discovered near the town of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc in southern France. The caves contained paintings and engravings that were 17,000 to 20,000 years old.

SPORTS PHYSICAL PAPERWORK NIGHTS:  Where/When: January 29 & 30: 6-8pm in the North Gym lobby. Turn in your completed paperwork and receive your athletic clearance card to present to your Spring coach on the first day of tryouts.

The Freestyle Club is having their second performance of the year!  Where/When: The Quad, today @ lunch.  Come and see us dance and beat box!

Internship opportunities offered by Davis Media Access!  This is an unpaid internship opportunity to learn video filming as a cameraperson, director, audio mixing, and more.  Applications are due today, 1/18 with internships to begin 2/4.  Visit the Career Center for more information!

The DHS Bands are holding their annual Play-A-Thon to raise money for the Band program and band trips.  Want to contribute to the cause? Find a Band student and pledge to contribute.  Where/When: Emerson Junior High Multipurpose Room, tonight, Friday Jan 18 from 7 pm to Saturday Jan 19 at 7 am.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
Break the Record Night Half-Time Game needs players!  We need at least two people from each class to participate.  There will be a game meeting for more information.  Where/When:  C-4 at lunch on Friday, 1/25.

Spring Play!  Auditions!  Where/When: P-11 -  1/23 and 1/24 afterschool.  The play addresses racism in Davis and is written by a DHS/UCD graduate.

Davis Idol!  Where: IPAB  - When: 1/25, 1/26 Preliminary rounds  -    Finale: 2/2  Tickets available: Room PA-8 or Watermelon Music.  Ticket packages are $25 for all 3 nights Single Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 @ the door for preliminary rounds and $10 in advance $12 @ the door for the finale!

DHS Boys Lacrosse Tryout Meeting - When: January 23rd   6:45pm Where: Holmes Jr. High School, 1220 Drexel Drive.  If you are trying out for the DHS Boys Lacrosse team, it is important you attend this Parent/Athlete meeting.  You will need to bring:
1. Both player and parent signed Coaches Handbook agreement page.
2. Your completed Transportation form with copies of your CDL and Insurance card both front and back.
