THIS DAY IN HISTORY
-2009 - NASA announced that water had been discovered on the moon. The discovery came from the planned impact on the moon of the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS).
ATHLETICS
-11/14 - Boys Lacrosse Meeting for players and parents - 6:45 - 8:30, North Davis Elementary
-There will be a mandatory preseason tennis meeting for all boys grades 9-12 interested in playing JV or Varsity tennis this spring. -Lunch: Choice of Hot Wings or Veggie Egg Roll and Fried Rice, Chicken Patty on a bun with coleslaw, Fish Filet on bun with coleslaw.
-The Chinese Club will have a short meeting at lunch today in T-3. Please come if you are interested in ordering a T-shirt.
-Come to the quad at lunch on Tuesday, November 13 to hang out with the Peer Helpers and eat free food! See you there!
-California Mathematics League or CAML Test #2 will be given on Tuesday, November 13 at lunch in any math classroom. Ask your teacher about extra credit!
-Are you interested in learning about the Air Force? If so, come to the Career Center TODAY at lunch to meet with an Air Force Representative.

-On November 29 at lunch, the Teen Health Awareness Club will host Guest Speaker Dr. Katherine Eastman, Assistant Chief of Pediatrics at Kaiser Davis to give a talk to interested DHS students regarding "Stress Management for Exams and Life." This talk will be timely since our finals are before Winter Break this year. All students are welcome to attend!
-Event and information postings are to be posted on BLUE WALLS ONLY, not blue doors, garbage cans, drink machine kiosks or restrooms. Thank you.
-Please place recyclable materials in proper containers which are the cardboard bins near the trash dumpster. Davis Waste Removal will not dump containers with improper materials in them. Thank you.

-Washington DC trip: Spring Break 2014. Details will be given on Thursday, November 15 at lunchtime in room P14 (Mr. Williams' classroom)
-The DHS Canned Food Drive is on! Please bring canned foods to your 4th period class. Winners will be decided by the most cans collected per student and class. The drive ends on Friday, November 16.
-ILS Winter Sport applications are now available in the front office for winter ILS. If you are planning on receiving PE credit during your sport, you must fill out an application and attend the first meeting on Friday, November 16th at 2:40 during 7th period in the South Gym. Attendance is mandatory for this first class meeting.
-JOB OPPORTUNITY: The City of Davis is looking for temporary, part-time Junior Basketball Coaches and Officials. Students must possess knowledge of basketball rules and be able to lead and motivate children. Deadline to apply is November 21. -Parking: The Davis Police Department is ticketing drivers who park in the campus staff spaces without a current staff placard. Please make sure to check the space before you pull in to make sure it is not a "staff only" space.
-Seniors! It's not too soon to think about Grad Night 2013! The tickets are at their lowest price now - $75 until December 31. Scholarships available for qualified seniors; talk to your school counselor. Davis Grad Night is Friday, June 7, 2013 from 9:30 pm to 5:00 am. The event is an all-night, alcohol and drug-free party for graduating seniors. Grads must enter before midnight and bring photo ID. Food, beverages, entertainment, dancing, activities and more are provided. Only DJUSD graduates eligible to walk at their graduation ceremony may attend.
