-Come to the Davis UNICEF Club today, Monday, March 19th in L-23.  We are gearing up for our next project!



-Attention All Thespians!  ACME Theatre Company is holding auditions for their spring show, 'The Compleat Works of William Shakespeare' [abridged].  The last auditions will be held on today, Monday, March 19 from 3:45 to 6:00 pm with callbacks on Thursday, March 22 at the Davis Art Center outdoor stage. - Seniors: If you are planning on attending Sacramento State University in Fall 2012, you must request a transcript now.   Due to this campus being impacted, your acceptance will be rescinded if the transcript is not received by Sacramento State by April 10, 2012.  Please order your transcript at the counseling office.
-Attention Blue Devils interested in a career in healthcare! The DHS Healthcare Careers Club is hosting a presentation about military healthcare in the U.S. Army in the Career Center Tuesday, March 20 at lunch.  All students are welcome!
-JUNIORS:  Would you like to participate in an all-expense paid Camp Royal leadership camp this summer?  Camp Royal is a leadership-training camp filled information, ideas and strategies that will help the camper return to his/her school a more effective leader. The deadline to apply is March 30  Come to the Career Center N-17 for more information and an application.

-We want you for Friendship Day!  Facilitator applications will be available on Friday, March 23rd in either Mr. Williams' room P-14 or at the Front Desk.  Apply now! :)


--THE ANNUAL SUMMER ACTIVITIES AND SCHOLARSHIP FAIR was rescheduled for Wednesday, March 21 outside the Career Center N-17.  See you then!

- The Chemistry of Algae Oils: From Pond Scum to Biodiesel : Please join Lisa Anderson on Tuesday, March 20 during the lunch hour at 12:00 Noon in Room PA-8.  Lisa Anderson is a 3rd year chemistry graduate student working for Annaliese Franz in the Chemistry Department at UC Davis where they are interested in utilizing micro-algae oils for biofuels. These oils can be burned directly in diesel engines and offer a replacement for petroleum based fuels. Lisa will discuss different techniques to study micro-algae chemistry such as spectroscopy along with what it's like to be a graduate student. She grew up in Michigan and received an undergraduate degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Environmental Science from Albion College and moved in California to pursue a PhD in Chemistry. Lisa has a passion for sustainability and renewable energy and is getting a doctorate so then she can help find an energy solution. On her free time, Lisa enjoys outdoor activities, volunteering, and playing the trombone.

-If you are heading for a career as an entrepreneur, here's a chance to learn the basic business skills that look great on a resume!  The HUB is looking for a business manager who can run our small, student-run business operations.  Training is provided!  Pick up an application in the front office out outside L-20.  Resumes are due on Wednesday, March 21.

-Enjoy orchestral music?  Come to the 16th Annual Wennberg Music Festival at the Mondavi Center at UC Davis, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 3:00 pm and listen to our award-winning DHS musicians along with other Davis student musicians!  The Davis High School Baroque Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra and School Symphony Orchestra will be performing.  Tickets are available for purchase online at http://www.mondaviarts.org or can be purchased at the Mondavi Center on March 31.





-Reminder: Friday March 23 will be the last day to enter course selections for 2012-2013 school year in Zangle!



-SENIORS: It's scholarship time!  If you would like free money for college, then you should apply for scholarships!  Twenty-one local scholarships for Davis Sr. High h School students are currently being offered by the Davis community.   Come to the Career Center in N-17 for more information about these and other available scholarships!


-HEY SENIORS!  It is time to make your reservation for Grad Night!    Grad Night is Friday, June 8 from 9:30 to 5:00 am at Emerson Junior High.   No one will be admitted after midnight! Tickets are $90 and the check should be made payable to "Davis Grad Night."  Fill out the quick form on the website www.davisgradnight.com<http://www.davisgradnight.com>.   An email confirmation will be sent; no tickets will be issued.  Senior's name will be on a paid list at Grad Night check-in.  Seniors must be eligible to walk in their graduation ceremony to attend and must present an ID to enter Grad Night.  You can mail or scan in your kindergarten photo for the Grad Night Kindergarten Wall.  You can also mail your reservation.
