ATHLETICS
-Boys Frosh Basketball vs. Oak Ridge 4:00
-The DHS Break-the-Record Night on Friday, Feb. 10th will feature the Blue Devils going up against the Monterey Trail Mustangs at the DHS new gym with an all out evening of excitement. The JV Men's team starts the action at 3:30 pm, followed by the JV Women's team at 5:00 pm and the Varsity Women's team at 6:30 pm. The Varsity Men's team finishes out the evening beginning at 8:00 pm.
-Spring Sports Reminder: If you are planning on trying out for a Spring sport, a sports physical packet must be completed and signed prior to the first day of tryouts , today. Fully completed packets may be dropped off at the DHS front desk or at the Athletics office prior to tryouts.
-It's not too late to join the 2012 DHS Track and Field Team. We are looking for hard-working athletes: grades nine through twelve, all event groups, no prior track and field experience necessary. We will take new members through this first week of practice but not afterwards. If you are interested, now is the time!

-For Lunch today we have Orange Chicken over local rice, Teriyaki Chicken over local rice, Sushi bowl and the soup is Mexican Tortilla with tortilla chips. Taco ala carte if weather permits, $2.00 cash only.
-Attention Key Clubbers! There will be a meeting today in S-12. If you would like to go to DCon, you must come and pick up a form to fill out. We will also be talking about our officer elections that are happening next week!

Attention NHS members, today through next week is registration for spring semester. Bring money, your ID card and your 1st semester grades to S-12 during lunch. See you there!
-Reminder - Participation in student activities is a privilege, is encouraged, and plays an important part in insuring that students have a well-rounded high school experience. Please don't earn a spot on the No Activities List by failing to follow DHS rules and expectations for behavior and attendance. Placement on the NAL would prevent you from participating in fun activities such as break-the record night, the black-light dance, and even playing on an athletic team . Follow guidelines that are designed to help you be successful. Don't go NAL!!
-Please donate your slightly-used jeans to your 4th period class to win a pizza party! The winning school gets $5,000. and a free pair of jeans for everyone. Donations end Friday so donate now!

-Attention ALL students: CAHSEE will be administered to all 10th graders today, Wednesday, February 8th. There will also be a make-up for 11/12th graders who are missing on or both portions. The revised schedule went home to everyone last month. Your teachers will post the room assignments in their classrooms and you can find that information in the Admin Building as well. 10th graders: go directly to your assigned testing room no later than 8:55 am on Wednesday. DO NOT BE LATE. Please see the testing coordinator if you have any questions.
*SCHEDULE CHANGE: Students, please NOTE that for CAHSEE Testing: Wednesday, February 8 will be regular schedule, and Thursday, February 9 will be a Tuesday schedule. *
Tuesday, February 7 is a Thursday block schedule, 7:45 - 2:30. 10th graders testing Periods 1, 3 & 5 7:45-12:10 approx.
Wednesday, February 8 is a regular block schedule with 10th graders testing 2nd and 4th period, 8:55-12:10 approx.
Thursday, February 9 is a regular schedule
Friday, February 10 is a regular schedule
-This week is Spirit Week for the 'Break the Record Night' Black Light Dance February 10th after the Varsity Basketball game. Thanks to those spirited Blue Devils who dressed up for Snow Day Monday! Today is Twin Day Tuesday,
-ER Day Wednesday (plumber, teacher, firefighter, etc.), Wear Blue Thursday and White Out Friday! Remember to come and cheer our team at the game!
-Hey CSFers! It's time to take the CSF yearbook photo. Meet this Friday, Feb 10 on the north side of the new gym. Wear a WHITE shirt! Also, your report cards will be arriving any day! Please remember to save it for CSF Registration which begins on Valentine's Day, Feb 14 at lunch in P-13.
-Are you interested in attending college in a western state other than California, but can't afford the out-of-state tuition? If so, come to the Career Center at lunch on Wednesday, February 8 to learn about the Western Undergraduate Exchange organization. You may be eligible for a reduced tuition rate at one of the participating schools in the West!
-Wazzup smiling rain drops? If you are going to Friendship Day, Friday February 10th, please turn in your permission slips to the Front Desk by Thursday, February 9th. See you there!
-Attention Seniors! Please remember to turn in your kindergarten photo for Grad Night. Please submit a picture no larger than 2x3 to the front desk! Join your fellow graduates in a walk down Memory Lane!
-Sophomore and Juniors: Would you like to do research at UC Davis this summer? The UC Davis Young Scholars Program is offering opportunities in biology and the natural sciences for high achieving high school students. Applications are due March 31. Come to the Career Center for more information.
