Greetings Everyone,

I forgot to mention an important part of the DDC original content on
Bluesky, X/Twitter and on Facebook.

Before I start on that, I want to report on our followers.  On Bluesky
with all of the help of our significant followers, we blew past 38,400
on Saturday!  We at this moment have 38,457 Followers.  On X/Twitter we
have 6,888 Followers.  The big topic on social media is the insanity
with the Lake Ontario renaming by Trump.  Canada said they were going to
retaliate by renaming the Canadian Geese to Donald Ducks. Trump at 1AM
EST in the morning on Saturday could not sleep and created a video that
was entitled Donald Ducks Defend Lake America!  It had ranks of Goose
Stepping Donald Ducks sporting his blonde toupees carrying AR rifles and
firing them in the air to the music of Hawaii Five-O.  He posted it on
Truth Social. Mapquest said that it would not change the name of Lake
Ontario, but Google Maps has.  So there is a cry going out for all Blue
people to boycott and un-install Google Maps.  This is where we are at...

The reason for this e-mail is to tell you about Dr Frank Maurer of Quail
Ridge Wilderness Conservancy.  He writes prose poetry about his life
experiences and topics that interest him.  His web site of poems and
thoughts can be found at www.quailridgelt.org/poems.htm
<https://quailridgelt.org/poems.htm> He currently has 889 poems at the
site and adds another 20+ per month.

To attract followers, you need to create interesting and captivating
posts.  Dr Frank Maurer has aided me by writing new poems and making his
vast library of poems available to me.  We started out with a simple
post with Marjorie Taylor Greene.  People on social media were
commenting that she looked like the specimen in the Neanderthal exhibit
at the German Museum of Natural History, so I ran Marjorie's picture
with the Neanderthal model in the exhibit.  I post the poems with
illustrations or photos on Facebook, Bluesky and X/Twitter.  On Facebook
I have 6000 friends and followers because I was working with a podcast
music program in the Adirondack Mountains.  The post garnered 290 views
and so posting poems became a regular thing.

Then everything changed with the ICE murder of Renee Good.  I posted Dr
Maurer's poem about the Demise of Mother-Poet and Facebook took Dr
Maurer's poem down.  I tried to find out why and Facebook told me that
they took the poem down because they were afraid for my life.  I told
Facebook that I would take all responsibility for whatever happened to
me and asked them to open up the post for people to see.  I went in and
saw that the poem had struck a chord with my audience of country-western
music fans.  They hated the poem and sentiment was running 5 to 1 that
it was a justified shoot and that Renee Good had tried to run the
officer down.  The views were 26,000 then 30,000 and then 52,000 views
with 1600 emoji reactions and 2400 comments.  We had a hit on our
hands.  The poem was equally successful on Bluesky and X/Twitter.  So,
we thought that this was like lightening, the odds of this happening
again were slim to none.

Alex Pretti was killed and a poem about him garnered over 9000 views.
So we were chugging along and suddenly, again, Facebook took Dr Maurer's
poem down about the Pink Back Pack campaign by the World Cup Iranian
Soccer Team. The soccer team would bring in 168 pink back packs at each
game they played, holding them up to bring attention to the 168 girls
who were killed by a misled US missile that hit the girls school in
Iran.  I once again told Facebook I would take full responsibility for
whatever come what may and we were at 126,000 views, then 158,000 views
with 9800 emoji reactions, 1000 shares, 1100 reposting of the poem on
Facebook pages. Lightening had struck twice.  Eventually we reached
168,000 views.  The popularity of this poem was significant on Bluesky
and X/Twitter.  Whenever I logged into Bluesky, I would see the poem
reposted by another account.  We were in the stream of consciousness on
Bluesky.

So, lightening had struck twice and I had become jaded as Dr Maurer's
poems were getting 10,000 views per poem post.  We even figured out what
was the right time of the night to post the poems to reach the largest
audience.  Our next big hit was The Ubiquitous Tick.  Dr Maurer wrote
about dealing with Ticks while hiking in the outdoors, but I ran the
poem with a picture of a tick with a Trump face.  We eventually received
78,000 views with 4600 emoji reactions, 300 comments and 884 shares on
other Facebook pages.  I posted the poem on Nextdoor and it was removed
because it was deemed too political.  But, on Bluesky and X/Twitter it
was quite popular.

So, we are now in a cold spell in August where the poems are getting 200
to 300 views on Facebook, which before the Renee Good poem, we were
extremely happy about receiving. Surprising on Nextdoor, Dr Maurer's
non-political poems are getting over 2000 views each in August.  I post
over there that you can purchase Dr Maurer's books of Poems and Thoughts
at the Avid Reader Book Store on Second Street in Davis.  There are now
16 volumes of Poem and Thoughts.

If you want to see other 10,000 view poems, you can search for Frank
Maurer on Bluesky or X/Twitter or you can log into my Facebook page at
https://www.facebook.com/koi.yamagata.7 and scroll through the posts.
You can view and find other original material posts of videos, some
provided by Luba Schmid and music videos from other sources.  You can
see the newest Dr Frank Maurer poem that should reach 10,000 views, a
poem about our dictators comment on if 250 days at sea is too long for
sailors.  His cold. unfeeling reply, "Not nearly long enough."

My thanks to all that help the DDC social media in its quest for fresh
new material to post so people will want to follow us and see our
posts.  I greatly appreciate the help.  Of course any DDC member can
help by logging on Facebook, Bluesky or X/Twitter and viewing the DDC
posts and hitting the like/emoji button and reposting the post or
commenting.  Every little bit helps the algorithm.
