The most significant changes being considered are: raising RT's cash fare from $2.25 to $2.50, doing away with the paper transfer and requiring that people pay a new cash fee, or show their daily or monthly pass, each time they get on a bus or light rail. Based on the attached proposal, those of you cash riders who transfer to and from RT and make round trips will be better off financially to buy a daily pass for $6 ($3 if you are a senior or disabled), rather than paying cash each time you board YOLOBUS and RT. This change is change is necessary because Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) has decided to eliminate accepting or issuing transfer slips, effective September 1, 2009. The hearing will take place at the Woodland City Council Chambers, second floor, 300 First Street, Woodland, CA 95695. With RT adopting a revised fare structure that eliminates transfer slips, it will be necessary for YCTD to modify its fare structure for those who either transfer to or from the RT system using a paper transfer. (Monthly pass and daily pass riders are no affected.) Proposed fare changes would become effective September 1, 2009. Transfers will no longer be issued for riders transferring from YOLOBUS to RT, or from RT to YOLOBUS. Riders who pay cash and ride both systems are encouraged to buy a daily pass from either YOLOBUS or RT. For rides within the YOLOBUS system, YOLOBUS will continue to issue transfers. It is proposed that these transfers be valid for up to 75 minutes, for YOLOBUS riders transferring to another YOLOBUS. YOLOBUS transfers cannot be used to complete a round trip. Those wishing to provide input at the hearing are encouraged to attend. Those who cannot attend the public hearing may write to the District with suggestions and comments. The mailing address is: Yolo County Transportation District, 350 Industrial Way, Woodland, CA 95776 or by email to ksouza at yctd.org. Comments may be placed by phone at (530) 661-0816 extension 19. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Although YOLOBUS normally does not operate Routes 39 & 241 during a "Sunday" schedule, YCTD has announced that YOLOBUS WILL operate all scheduled trips for Routes 39 & 241 on Friday, July 3, 2009. YCTD has recognized that July 3, 2009 is not a State Employee Holiday. It has been 11 years (1998) since Independence Day last fell on a Saturday. YCTD's policy on Holiday Service is if a National Holiday fell on a Saturday, then Holiday Service would be observed on the preceding Friday. However, with feedback from some of our riders, YCTD understands that it would be a huge burden for several Route 39 & 241 commuters if service was not operated. Please keep in mind that this exception to operate the Routes 39 & 241 may or may not be offered for future holiday observances. YCTD apologizes for any inconvenience.
