[Vh-homeowners] Howdy!

Hi Neighbour,

The Davis-Stirling Act (California law enacted in 1985) allows Homeowners
Associations (HOAs) to
foreclose on a member’s property for failing to pay their dues. Indeed, law
firms representing California
HOAs have used this legislation to foreclose on their neighbours. Losing
one’s home to foreclosure is
devastating financially and personally.

On November 3rd the VHA will meet to discuss adopting new Covenants,
Conditions & Restrictions
(CC&Rs). We see this push to update the rules that govern us as an
opportunity to specifically disallow
foreclosure. We believe there is NO legitimate reason for our HOA to
foreclose on a neighbour. It flies in
the face of the Village Homes motto:

"Live in Peace"
