[Vh-homeowners] Foreclosure in CC&Rs

Hello,
 
Thank you for your interest on the foreclosure issue. On November 3, the VHA Board held a meeting to allow input on the CC&Rs. Seventeen non-board members attended.
 
Emily has sent out the minutes, but I have written my own notes. Combined with hers, you’ll see more detail. See the attached.
 
The Board stands firmly with the attorney, Melissa, in favor of including foreclosure as a remedy. On April 23, we sent a letter to the VHA Board. Based on their attitude, it appears they may not have opened the link we inserted. It was a report about the HOA foreclosure process from the homeowners’ perspective. I hope that you will take a look because it is the abusive nature of the HOA foreclosure practice that we are trying to prevent:

I’m attaching the transcript that John created of the last meeting with the attorney.
 
There are less draconian measures that are effective in the unlikely event that a homeowner fails to pay their due, such as payment plans, late fees, and liens. Liens, don’t always require a long time to work because they affect a person’s credit rating.
 
The next VHA Board meeting is Tuesday, November 12, at 6:30pm via Zoom.  The CC&Rs are on the agenda.
