[OldNorth] AMGEN Race this Sunday, Feb 15

Davis  expects to host 30,000 people on Sunday, February 15 as the  
AMGEN bicycle races begin from our own Central Park.  Out-of-town  
visitors are being directed to parking lots on the UC Davis campus.   
Residents will be looking for parking close to downtown (OND Streets B  
through F).

Kelly Stackowicz, Deputy City Manager, wants us to know that altered  
access to downtown and across town may result in cut through traffic  
for our neighborhood as well as an abundance of parked cars.  You may  
need to allow extra time to navigate street closures and heavy traffic  
surrounding the downtown.

As many of us have no alternative to parking on the street, be  
cautious about using your car on Sunday.   It's possible you will be  
unable to repark in the neighborhood between early morning and mid- 
afternoon.

  OND streets will be blocked at 5th St from B to F.  Street closings  
and the I-80 Richards Blvd ramp closing begin at 10AM.

Events begin at 10:30AM on B Street as bicycle teams begin arriving  
from Sacramento.
