Friends of Davis Historical Resources -
A reminder - the Davis Tree Commission will consider an application
for Landmark Tree designation for the orange trees adjacent to the
Dresbach-Hunt-Boyer Mansion this Thursday 10/23 beginning at 6 pm at
the Davis Police Department community room at2600 Fifth Street (east
of the Post Office at Cantrill Drive).
The orange trees have been listed for some time on the City's Landmark
Tree list, but apparently an application for that status cannot be
located. City staff is recommending _against_ designation.

- DHB Mansion address)
The orange trees are considered to be the surviving elements of the
original garden surrounding the Mansion, and are listed as
contributing to the Mansion complex in the National Register Landmark
nomination for the Mansion. Further discussion of the trees is
available online in the following documents:

(p. 6-7)

(p. 2,5,19,20)
Please consider supporting the designation of the DHB Mansion orange
trees as Davis Landmark Trees by speaking Thursday at the Tree
Commission meeting at 6 pm, or if you are unable to attend, by sending
your comments by email to the Tree Commission staff liaison, Robert
Cain ( rcain at cityofdavis.org ) with a request that he pass them on to
the Commissioners.
Thank you for your support in recognizing and protecting Davis'
historical legacy !
