[OldNorth] grapes (not sour)

well, not sour grapes if you get the right ones...

I remember one of the joys of being a kid in the summer was foraging for fruit behind peoples' fences. So, I've let some of my grapes grow into the alley so there'd be some to share with passersby - actually they're intended for kids mostly.

They're on the small side but good tasting (the grapes). They're just starting to be ripe - and kids like fruit a little tarter than blown-ups do usually, so the timing's right for the kids.

Any kids can pick them any time; adults acting on behalf of kids are welcome too. And if you're an adult without kids, I guess you're your own kid, so you're included. Rosy will want to lick you all through the fence, unless she thinks you're a squirrel... I'd advise letting her taste you so she knows you're not one of those!

The same is true any time there's fruit on the alley side of my fence - next year there may be peaches and apricots, and any growing *over* or *through* the fence are for sharing.

(but please don't reach over/into Rosie's side of the fence to pick fruit - she might think you're testing her watch-dog abilities - and she can jump over 6 feet!)

My yard is the chain-link fence just west of the little park behind the city well.
