A reminder to all who care about:
1. The status & future of historical conservation,
preservation & management in Davis, particularly of
publicly owned resources
2. The future of the city owned Landmark Varsity Theater
3. The future of the city owned Landmark & Nationally Listed
Dresbach-Hunt-Boyer Mansion Complex (next to the Varsity).
The latter complex is threatened with dismemberment,
specifically by destruction of the Mansion's unique
Tank House and the surrounding orange orchard & brick paving.
This entire area next to the Varsity on the west side, comprising
one third of the City owned DHB Mansion Complex property, is to
be occupied entirely by a new privately owned three story
restaurant and office building.
If you care about any of the above, come to the HRMC meeting
this evening. The meeting convenes at 6:30 pm at the Hunt-Boyer
property [in front of Mansion Square, next to the Varsity
Theater at 2nd & E], followed by a brief recess to reconvene
at 7:30 pm for the regular HRMC session at the Hattie Weber
Museum at the north end of Central Park, corner 5th & C St.
