THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. I'm also noticing quite a few accidents this year on D and E streets downtown, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th street intersections. As for the buses, you can observe the same thing almost anytime of day on 5th and on F Streets, where despite the redlined curbs for bus stops, yard trash, garbage cans, multiple buses arriving simultaneously, or just plain sloppy bus driving often results in part of the bus encroaching on the traffic lane. Note also that the London buses of UniTrans, which operate on F St. load passengers at the LEFT REAR (with a flagperson/conductor). The same is common in midtown Sacramento (speaking as a 32-year bus commuter in Davis and Sacramento). But I'd bet that few buses are rear-ended: in my experience, the typical bus accidents involved a turning bus and a bike, pedestrian or other vehicle, a sideswipe by a vehicle pulling out of parking place, a driver side door opening of a parked car, or a bike or motorcycle trying to pass on the right..
