Roxanne:

The ONDNA Board met this last Thursday, January 27th, and decided to
go forward with the parking layout as devised by Public Works.
Although there were other ideas about how to effectively arrange the
spacing of the permitted and open spaces, the consensus sentiment was
to move forward without further delay in implementing the special
district. This includes your suggestion for weekly alternate side,
alternate day street sweeping restrictions in the early AM.

There were several requests for single space modification. I will
bring these to you on the layout map you supplied me. I’ll try to get
that to you this coming week.

I will share one concern. Some worry that tic marks alone will not
be enough evidence of a restricted space, and have suggested that an
“N,” perhaps about 12 inches high, be placed midway between the marks.
Please consider this or a like measure, clearly visible from the
street. It would aid in enforcement and clearly tie the permitted
spots to the signage.

The residents of ON appreciate with willingness of you and your staff
to work with the neighborhood in designing and implementing this
special district. We believe it will serve the needs of residents and
at the same time will accommodate visitors to the downtown, Wednesday
farmer’s market. local churches and University.

Sincerely,

Bruce WInterhalder
ONDNA President
