Old North Neighbors:
Tuesday night will be the last official hurdle in our efforts to
establish a special Old North parking district, bringing relief to
residents who rely on street side parking in our neighborhood.
We will be regular item 7 (see text copied below) on the City Council
agenda. The "Regular Item" portion of the Council meeting begins at
7:30, with item # 5. This means that our resolution will come up
some time after 7:30, probably closer to 8:00PM or later.
It is very important that we have a good turn out of neighborhood
residents for this meeting. It is unlikely that many of us will be
able to speak (or have to speak, depending on your perspective), but it
is critical that we be there in good numbers. If past patterns hold,
Mayor Asmundsonlikely will ask for a show of hands of the people who
are present for the purpose of this issue, but will limit commentary.
Please attend this meeting. Talk to your neighbors about attending.
If possible, bring your neighbors. Many thanks for all of your
support.

"Item 7 Public Hearing: Establishment of Special Preferential
Parking District (N Permit Area) in Old North Davis Neighborhood
(Senior Civil Engineer Roxanne Namazi). Comment: Residents
requested a special parking district which consists of one parking
space in front of each residence with the remainder of the street open
for public parking. Recommendation: Approve Resolution."
