I finally noticed the following at the bottom, where I only look when going to add an event: > This calendar displays official City of Davis events only. > For a calendar that lists events for the entire Davis community, > please visit the > Davis Community Events Calendar Going to the DCN calendar, I was confronted with a confusing hodgepodge of all sorts of stuff, including duplicates of the Davis City Council and Commissions; in order to make some sense of it and find what you're looking for, you have to click on a separate tab for different categories. "Civic and Government" displayed Kiwanis meetings & projects, plus a Fire Department Open House. In fact, the whole calendar is dominated by Kiwanis events. The Official City Calendar displayed a Senior Center sponsored talk on an election related topic. Seems to me that as the front line grass roots organizations dealing primarily with the City Government - from the City Council on down through the Commissions, as well as formed with city encouragement and facilitation, provided with staff liaison, meeting in city facilities, and (apparently) closely monitored by City staff and official, the Neighborhood Associations could be accommodated on the main City Calendar as having at least as much "government" relevance as the events of the Senior Center. And at the very least, it would have been nice if whoever stripped the calendar had moved evicted events to the DCN calendar and/or given us some notice that the DCN calendar was no longer optional but compulsory, rather than letting us accidentally discover that all the effort to enter our future meetings and inform people where to look for up to date info has been wasted and must be done all over again.
