This meeting, apparently in response to Old North's initiative (??)
is also on AUGUST 12th, so conficts with the Old East & Infill
Sub-Committee meeting on that evening, which some of us were planning
to attend.

Notice of Community Meeting 
 Proposal to Re-stripe Fifth Street to One Lane in each Direction, with Bike
Lanes and Raised Landscaped Median 

The City of Davis Public Works Department has scheduled a Community Meeting to
discuss a Proposal to Re-stripe Fifth Street to one lane in each direction,
with bike lanes and raised landscaped median. 


Date: Thursday, August 12, 2004
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Meeting Location: Police Station's Community Room 2600 Fifth Street 

Project Proposal
The Core Area residents have proposed to re-stripe Fifth Street from the
current 4 lane configuration (2 lanes each direction) to one lane in each
direction, plus bike lanes and a raised landscaped median. The lane reduction
project is proposed between B Street and L Street. 

Fehr & Peers Transportation Consultants were retained to conduct the study. We
have scheduled this meeting to discuss the following: 


Present the Summary Report 
Show a short video clip of the traffic operation with the proposed
configuration 
Discuss next steps
