To People Interested in Old North Davis Matters,

I write as a resident of the Old North and as President of the Davis
Historical Society (DHS) to let you know that the DHS has just
published two short papers on the history of the Old North.

These are on the DHS web site, in the Files section, and are:

1. A Minimal Traditional House: 647 G Street, Davis by Tanya Lieberman.

2. Pre-WWII Views of North Davis: Pictures from Lofland and Haig,
Davis, CA, 1910s- 40s by John Lofland.

The first provides a very interesting history and analysis (with
photos) of the home at 647 G.

The second provides fifteen photos (with captions) of Old North
scenes before World War II.

These are the first two papers in the new DHS series, Papers on Davis History.

The purpose of this series is to publish article-length original
research studies, data compilations and photographic collections on
aspects of the history of Davis, California.

Initially, publication will be electronic by means of the Society's
web site. In time, there may also be print versions.

Anyone who has compiled a photographic montage or data assemblage or
has completed a research article on Davis history is encouraged to
submit it to the Society's Publications Committee to be considered
for publication in the series. Details are available on the
Publications Committee page at www.davishistoricalsociety.org

Many thanks.

John Lofland
