From ap_wallace at yahoo.com Wed Apr 30 23:08:18 2003 From: ap_wallace at yahoo.com (Andrew P. Wallace) Date: Wed, 30 Apr 2003 23:08:18 -0700 Subject: [OldNorth] Upcoming Meeting on May 22, 2003 Message-ID: Old North Davis Neighborhood Association, At 7:30pm on May 22, 2003, as part of our regular monthly meeting, Steve Tracy and others from the Association will present a proposal regarding potential changes to 5th Street between G and A Streets. Currently, the City Council is looking for methods of improving traffic flow on 5th Street. A major problem is the blocking of traffic by people in the left-hand turn lanes. The City's proposed solution is an alternating priority with left hand arrows. So all North bound traffic on G would have priority including those making right and left turns, then East bound on 5th, South bound on G, and then West bound on 5th. (The exact order or timing is not known) Our Neighborhood Association is considering an innovative proposal which will include: single-lanes of motorist traffic, bike lanes, and left-hand turn lanes. At the end of this dicussion, the Association will vote on whether we stand behind this proposal or not. If so, we will submit the proposal to the City in hopes that they will proceed with a formal traffic flow analysis. Also, a number of changes have been made to the website. In particular, we have a complete list of current committees. Are you interested in participating? Please see what interests you. Best Regards, Andy Wallace www.OldNorthDavis.com
