Welcome to another school year, Harper Families!
Whether you are new to Harper or are a returning family, we welcome you to
the 2025 – 2026 school year. The Harper PTO is looking forward to another
year of supporting our students, teachers and staff, and we hope you will
join us.
Though our students are now in middle school and the teachers no longer
need us to volunteer in their classrooms, they do still need financial
support. That is where the PTO steps in (and parents like you) to fill in
the gaps to provide much needed materials that are NOT provided by State
funds or our school district. This year, the Harper PTO has a budget of
$20,000 to help fill these gaps.
To help us reach our goal, we our kicking-off the year with the HarPER Kid
Donation Drive. The suggested "PER kid" donation amount is $150; however,
we gratefully welcome all contributions.
Until we raise funds, we will not be able to award our teachers and staff
any grant requests or be able to fulfill our budgeted obligations.
Some of the activities, programs, and items we have funded in the last two
years include:
Art supplies
Library books and supplies
Books for English and Spanish classes
Student garden upgrades
Science Dept supplies
Special Education supplies
Upgraded PE equipment
Field trips
A new dryer for Food Science
The Harper PTO also supports special year-end activities including Freshmen
Celebration, Day on the Green, and Freshmen Breakfast, as well as Teacher
Appreciation Week, and teacher luncheons throughout the year.
With the help of you and your generous donations, we are looking to do even
more great work this year! Please consider donating any amount you can.
You can join the PTO for only $20 (no participation required) and make a
donation <https://givebutter.com/xAZksU> via our website:
www.harperjrhighpto.com “Join the PTO.”
At our monthly PTO meetings you can join the conversation and learn more
about the PTO and our school. Meetings include monthly reports from our
Principal, Katie Sluis, various other staff members, and board members. Our
meetings will be held primarily via Zoom on the second Thursday of every
month (with a few exceptions). Please mark your calendar for the 1st PTO
meeting of the school year!
