[env-trinity] 2025/26 CDFW Trinity River Project trapping summary through Julian week 32 (August 34)

Hello everyone,

Attached is the latest summary of the preliminary data for the Trinity River Project for the 2025/26 season, and at this point in time we still only have data for the Junction City weir (JCW). During this time we missed two trapping days during Julian Week 34, as running the weir was not feasible with the increased flow releases for the Boat Dance ceremony.

As of today we are excited to inform you all that the Willow Creek weir is now up and running at a new location (see attached photo). The weir allows for passage of watercraft with a boat gate that can be opened and closed by CDFW staff that are present on site 24/7 throughout the trapping season. The new weir site is roughly two miles downstream of the confluence with the South Fork Trinity River. We are very grateful to the family that granted us access to their property at this new location, as there are very few sites that have good trapping conditions, road access, and a landowner that is willing to grant us access. The new weir site is an improvement over last year as conditions in the channel are more conducive to trapping and installation/removal of the weir.  Additionally, we also greatly appreciate another year of support and collaboration with the Hoopa Valley Tribe with their help during installation of the weir.
