[env-trinity] Proposed Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Policy - Public Workshop Nov 8, 2011: 9 am at the TPUD in Weaverville

Hello Trinity River Restoration enthusiasts -

This is a reminder that there will be a public workshop on Nov 8, run by the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board, to introduce their proposed Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Policy.  The meeting will be held at the local Trinity Public Utility District Office on Nov 8 from 9 am until 11 am.

The goal of the proposed Aquatic Restoration Policy is to provide greater permitting certainty to those qualifying Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Projects (AERPs) that result in a temporary discharge of waste to waters of the State.   The adoption of this policy by the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board would likely help in getting more restoration work on the ground and may serve as a template for other California regions to adopt.  This could have some great ramifications for restoring your favorite water course.  I have attached a description of the policy and the Waterboard's public announcement .
