Reclamation Releases Draft Environmental Documents for San Luis Unit Water
Service Interim Renewal Contracts
The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review a Draft
Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for proposed
Interim Renewal Contracts for the San Luis Water District and the Panoche
Water District for March 1, 2011, through February 28, 2013.
Interim renewal contracts are undertaken under the authority of the Central
Valley Project Improvement Act (CVPIA) to provide a "bridge" between
expiration of the original long-term water service contracts and long-term
renewal of those contracts. The CVPIA allows for the repeated execution of
two-year interim renewal contracts until long-term renewal contracts are
executed.
The Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact
(FONSI) were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy
Act and are available online at
http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_projdetails.cfm?Project_ID=6449. If you
encounter problems accessing the documents online, please call 916-978-5100
or e-mail ibr2mprpao at usbr.gov.
Please send written comments to Rain Healer, Bureau of Reclamation, 1243 N
Street, Fresno, CA 93721, by December 14, 2010. Comments may also be faxed
