ACADEMICS/OPORTUNITIES/EVENTS: Students, College Night will be held @ Harper Jr High ​on Thursday, March​ 19, 2020 from 6:00 PM – 8:00PM.  This event is sponsored by AVID, Bridge, and ELD but is open to all students and parents, as well as all AVID and Bridge students and parents! This night will feature many excellent workshops and presentations that will help you navigate high school as well as learn about college opportunities. Please see Ms. McInturf for more information or if you have any questions.
DSHS will host the SAT this Saturday, March 14, 2020. Arrive to P-13 at 7:45 am to get your room assignment. You must have your registration ticket and photo ID to enter. Photo ID on cell phone will not be accepted. Remember to bring your calculator. Test begins promptly at 8am - NO late entry. Please consider leaving your cell phones at home. Cell phones and electronic devices will be collected and must be OFF. If your cell phone or electronic device make any noise you will be dismissed and your test will be canceled.
The annual Staff vs. Student Basketball game is ... Wed, March 18th at 3:30pm in the south gym.
Sophomores and Juniors! The Portal for entering your classes for next year closes today. Make sure you get your classes entered!
CAASPP:  Juniors will participate in CAASPP testing this month. Sophomores and Seniors will and participate in assemblies during CAASPP testing. ELA    – Wed, 3/18 & Thurs, 3/19,Math – Wed, 3/25 & Thurs, 3/26 Science – Wed, 5/20 & Thurs, 5/21
Seniors the 2020 Graduation Speech Applications are now available. Please pick up an application form from Ms. Marlen Cabrera in the office if you are interested in being selected to speak at Graduation.

DHS Jazz Choir Cabaret Tickets On Sale Now -Tickets for the Davis High School Jazz Choir Cabaret performances are on sale now. A dinner show will be held on Saturday, March 21, starting at 5p.m., and features a catered buffet dinner. A matinee show will be held on Sunday, March 22 at 2p.m. and features a dessert buffet bar. Both shows will be held at Emerson Junior High. The Cabaret is the choir’s most elaborate production of the year. This year’s events boast delicious food, hand-made craft mocktails, silent auction, and fabulous musical performances running throughout both shows. CLUBS: Did you know that 1 blood donation can save up to 3 lives? Red Cross Club will be having their biannual blood drive, Tuesday, 03/17. You will get snacks, a t-shirt, and can miss the period of your choosing if you give blood. Come sign up this week at lunch(we’ll be in front of S-12) or by DMing at dhsredcross on Instagram.
Happy Kindness Week! Make sure to spread the kindness this week individually or through various activities. Today, join us at lunch and spin the wheel  of kindness for prizes!
Come to Japan Day Day on Saturday, March 14, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 2p.m. in the South Gym! There will be Japanese culture activities and performances!
Do you have old glasses that you no longer wear? Bring them to the donation box in Mr. William’s’ room, P-14. The frames will be donated to families who cannot afford to buy them.
CAREERS: COMING NEXT WEEK - THE CAREER CENTER’S ANNUAL SUMMER ACTIVITIES, SCHOLARSHIP AND JOB FAIR!  If you're looking for something to do this summer, need a job, or want free money for college, you should attend this event!  The fair will feature job applications, scholarship applications, and information about volunteering and summer activities.  The fair will take place in front of the All Student Center on Tuesday, March 17 at lunch. See you there!

Birch Lane Elementary needs volunteers for their annual fundraising auction on Saturday, March 21 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Veterans Memorial Center.  Come to the Career Center for more information.
